  1. He just got traded, so no compensation pick. But Puig really isn't that great of a fit. Lineup gets so right handed if the RF we add isn't a lefty (or switch hitter). I suppose as a backup plan, I wouldn't hate it if paired with someone like Grandal for C/DH.
  2. I was never sure he'd be available. He's just a good fit, and shouldn't be outrageously expensive. That team is so left handed in the OF, I fell like they could afford to part with him. But yah, hard to handicap BVW.
  3. Who would you target?
  4. Because they are fantastic fits for what this clubs needs.
  5. Gross. How do you not give Mendick a chance? Especially with Madrigal taking over 2B at Charlotte.
  6. We can talk about names until the cows come home, but its all speculation at this point. The reality is 95% of the fanbase has no confidence in the organization or specifically the FO, so no one believes they'll make the right moves. Hard to argue with that position - though I think its also fair to give the Sox some credit for the core they've built. That being said, the bottom line is the payroll committed to 2020 as of right now (assuming no Abreu and Yolmer is non-tendered) is around $45M. I am confident the White Sox will at a bare minimum be over $100M. You can do the math - that is $55M minimum that will be added to 2020 payroll. That should give the Sox more than enough room to add a good SP, RF, a depth SP, a 1B/DH type, and a bullpen piece or two. And frankly that is all they really need. LF, CF, 3B, SS, 2B C, at least three rotation spots and most of the bullpen is already in place. SP #1: $20M SP#2: $10M 2 Relievers: $15-20M 1b/DH type: $10M That puts the Sox right around $100-105M. I personally think they'll trade for a RF and not sign one of the FA market. I've already stated who I think the best options are, so no need to repeat. Time will tell, but they aren't going to rock a $60M payroll next year, and they aren't going to spend their money on shitty stopgaps when the majority of the next core is in place.
  7. I’m not even referring to this particular injury. Obviously he is hurt needs to spend 10 days on the DL. But Moncada has multiple times even just this season left games due to minor injuries. This isn’t like this is the first time it’s happened. The dude is super good and it’s not that big of a deal, but he’s made it abundantly obvious that he doesn’t like to play through pain.
  8. It’s insane. The White Sox rebuilt guys! They didn’t become bottom dwellers in annual payroll obligations for fun. I know you all mock the saying, but there will be a good amount of money spent. They have legitimately boatloads to spend. At least try to be objective!!
  9. What do you think payroll will be next year?
  10. What do you think payroll will be next year?
  11. I said that. This hardly changes my take. The dude gets knicked up and acts like he’s seriously injured frequently. It’s not really a bid deal, and neither is this minor hamstring strain.
  12. Once 2020 comes, I am less concerned about draft picks. Time to build a major league winner. It what you rebuilt for and the majority of the next core has all arrived by next May.
  13. With the new rules, can we even give something up for him?
  14. Have to go through entire NL first.
  15. Gohara DFAd by Braves. Guessing he cannot be traded now that the deadline has passed. I highly doubt he would get to the Sox on waivers, but they should be interested.
  16. At least this should give Mendick a chance
  17. Lol, he's been hurt all season
  18. Jesus Sanchez and Stanek for Nick Anderson and Trevor Richards. -Per Craig Mish. INTERESTING
  19. Wentz and Demeritte interesting.
  20. Well....still hoping for some news, but sounds doubtful. Which means the offers probably were't there. Tough to understand not just dumping Jay and Castillo - a little surprised no one was interested as pure insurance policies for injuries - but oh well.
