  1. Surprised you want to sign the dreaded vets instead of rolling with Banuelos, Covey and Stephens for the 5 spot.
  2. I agree in some respects. But $260M, turns into $130M pretty quick. I wouldn’t be so quick to assume that Manny won’t put that money to use at some point in his life.
  3. $30M is a ton of money. I don’t blame him.
  4. Sounds like Rodon and Yolmer settled as well, but no word yet on amounts.
  5. The Blue Jays are actually sending $16.4M along with Russell.
  6. I am sure there are plenty of mystery teams if he bidding is truly only at $200M (it’s probably not tho).
  7. Dan Clarke - what a douche. I was going to go tell him he could have trusted his source without being a complete cockjob about it. But I couldn't even do that! Peace buuddy!!
  8. Because the Sox aren't trading significant minor league assets for guys with 2 years of control. If the Sox make moves like that, it will be a year from now. If they wanted a catcher, they could have signed Grandal (and they wouldn't have signed McCann). I am sure the Sox like Realmuto, but he doesn't fit the window at all. It isnt happening.
  9. Elaborate. Hard to follow this logic.
  10. I like Andjuar and all, but I am not paying the price to acquire him when you can just sign Manny Machado for money. It'd be stupid. I would, however, do something like Abreu, Rutherford and Lambert for Andjuar and play him at 1B (and sign Manny). But I HIGHLY doubt the Yankees would do that.
  11. The Sox are not trading for Realmuto. It isn't happening. They could have just signed Grandal if they wanted to add another catcher.
  12. MLBTR projected him at $7.3, so pretty much right on the money.
  13. Dodgers adding more $, even if something small like $5M, doesn't seem like something a team that is in the hunt for Harper and trying to avoid the luxury tax would do.
  14. The Yankees aren't trading Andujar to the White Sox for anyone except for perhaps Rodon.
  15. If Harper to the Phillies gets announced before anything on Machado, I'd have mixed feelings. It may take them out of the race for Machado, but if it doesn't, the Phillies just got a lot more attractive for MM. Its basically the Sox thing I think for the Sox - if they land MM before Harper makes his decision, if they're willing to keep whatever offer they have to Harper on the table (BIGGGG IF), the Sox likely become more attractive to Harper.
  16. I want both as well, but MM is happening first. And I think the chances of the Sox landing both is microscopically low at this point - I don't think Harper is interested in the Sox at all. There has been virtually no Sox/Harper connections since the Winter Meetings.
  17. Pretty obvious the Sox focus in on MM, which it should be - he is the far better long term fit.
  18. Well, this is boring.
  19. Quintana for Eloy and Cease looks awfully lopsided, but I doubt you'll give them credit for that. I've never wanted a prospect to fail more than Tatis. I think he's going to be a good player, but he does have major strike out concerns. I think he's very likely he struggles a ton in the majors in the early going, not too dissimilar from Moncada.
  20. Harper is going to get more. I’m sure Lozano knows that. Harper is also wayyyyy more likely to become a bad contract IMO, and perhaps evenly quickly.
  21. And extended him right away! Gahh, that was brutal!
  22. What was the previous comments from Roeper?
