  1. QUOTE (Saufley @ Aug 25, 2015 -> 02:42 PM) Hopefully they are pissed off about the 2015 performance and also seeing what is happening with the team on the north side. Forget loyalty and I'd like to see them bring in a real professional like a John McDonough type. But, we all know that won't happen. They need to let go of the old, and let Rick Hahn do his thing. This year we saw the promotions of Jeremy Haber and Nick Hosleter*, but guys like Buddy Bell and Kenny still remain. I really hope a team like the Mariners or the Jays pony up and get him out of here.

QUOTE (LDF @ Aug 25, 2015 -> 11:04 AM) i saw mission impossible, man from uncle and train wreck. MI was very good and good speed for the movie. MFU, it has potential. TW ..... not for me. I thought Trainwreck was very good but it felt like it didn't know what it wanted to be at times.
  3. My production company (yes, we have things in the pipeline) are thinking about doing a podcast where we talk about film and TV (maybe a little music and books, who doesn't love to read) and interview filmmakers from/in the area. If you know any filmmakers, please message me and send them my way.

QUOTE (knightni @ Aug 23, 2015 -> 05:53 PM) Guy Ritchie does a great job in making you forget that it's an adaptation from a TV show. Very good movie. The ending felt rushed, but it was a solid 3.5 out of 5 stars. He's making a King Arthur movie for WB at the moment, and I think that has a budget of $200M
  5. QUOTE (raBBit @ Aug 23, 2015 -> 05:35 PM) Posada was probably a steroid user. What makes you say that?

Saw The Man From UNCLE last night, really enjoyed it. Armie Hammer was great, hope there's a sequel. I am going to see a screening of Sciario early next month too.
  7. Let's go for that top ten pick in the draft, still hope Q has a good outing

QUOTE (SoxAce @ Aug 18, 2015 -> 07:55 AM) Yea that was bad. Also the actor who played Snoop Dogg looked and was nothing like him. Just terrible. Keith Stanfield is a really, really, insanely good actor. If you have Netflix, watch Short Term 12. There was a push for him to get nominated for Best Original Song but rap music gets a hard time from the oldies in Academy. For a 24 year old, he has a pretty good filmography.
  9. The DSL team just threw a combined no hitter, led by Nelson Acosta, who threw 7IP, 6Ks and 0BBs.
  10. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Aug 18, 2015 -> 04:58 PM) I understand going for best available but, Puk is another lefty starting pitcher that will be close to the majors right when drafted. What are we going to do with all that talent if we were to get him I don't think he's a close as most people think he is, I would like to see better command from him. To answer your question, if the Sox were to draft him it wouldn't be a bad thing. You can never have too much pitching, especially left handed. The Sox could deal a guy at the MLB level (Probably Quintana) and bring more talent into the system. Look at the Cubs and their plethora of shortstops for example or the Mets and their arms....
  11. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Aug 18, 2015 -> 03:40 PM) Nick Banks is my guy. Last year Fulmer was and we got him. 2 years ago, I was really torn between Rodon and Aiken. Hopefully Banks falls. Undersized and physically maxed out, corner outfielder? I'll pass. I really like AJ Puk alot and Alec Hansen, but as the article stated he's taking the summer off.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Aug 16, 2015 -> 08:38 AM) Making Sue Storm the adopted daughter of Dr. Storm...and changing the character of Johnny not only in terms of race but also temperament. He goes from Chris Evans/badass/chick magnet to more reminiscent of a less whiny Shia Lebouf. To me.... MBJ's Johnny Storm was very much still the Johnny Storm that people come to love through the comics. He was cocky, arrogant, hated authority and smart and was a bro to everyone on the team. It dosen't matter what the character's skin color is as long as those traits are there and even in that mess of a movie, those things were. And I would never go as far as saying Chris Evan's Johnny Storm as being the definitive intrepetation* of the character.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Aug 15, 2015 -> 03:39 PM) Then you have the whole racial dynamic just not hitting the right tone... Please elaborate on this.....
  14. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Aug 15, 2015 -> 03:14 PM) All-American HS game on right now on MLB Network at Wrigley Field. Riley Pint pitching. I was there.
  15. QUOTE (thxfrthmmrs @ Aug 15, 2015 -> 10:30 AM) He's essentially only missing 5 weeks of baseball. I think there's a good chance the Sox push him to Low A at the start of next season. Thanks for being rational
  16. At Wrigley, the event is free. Who else is going?
  17. QUOTE (bmags @ Aug 14, 2015 -> 02:24 PM) Dang...will be a lot of pressure on him next year Not really he'll be 19

QUOTE (CrimsonWeltall @ Aug 12, 2015 -> 09:41 AM) The only reason it got the ratings it did was *because of* season 1. Season 2's ratings were dropping episode-by-episode (good bump for the finale though) as season 1 loyalists gradually gave up on it. Season 2 is the fourth most wastched season in HBO history, when the ratings for each episode where counted up. http://i.imgur.com/BDZvA1E.jpg?1 QUOTE (farmteam @ Aug 11, 2015 -> 06:38 PM) If the first season hadn't been so good the ratings would not have been nearly as high. I doubt that to the extent because it seems like youre forgetting the show gets A-List actors and they each bring their own audience.

QUOTE (The Gooch @ Aug 12, 2015 -> 09:39 AM) I feel like you are the Skip Bayless of t.v. watching. I feel like I am watching one of those afternoon ESPN shows where one of the hosts has to argue a ridiculous point for entertainment value. You can be my Rob Parker.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Aug 12, 2015 -> 05:54 PM) His (deleted) tweet on the night before the premiere was EXTREMELY ill-advised and stupid for his career going forward. You just have to take your lumps throughout the theater run and blast Fox when you are done with the red carpet. He's on the verge of being blacklisted

Josh Trank is lawyering up and is preparing to go to court against Fox.
  24. Atlanta is not going to sign him, they plan to go way over in 2016 and have Maitan already locked up.
