QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 11, 2015 -> 10:55 AM) dream that he had...or he had a dream that he had ADD, haha? could be too quite different results there depending upon the interpretation A dream that he had as a teenager, sorry blame it on the tablet.

QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Jul 11, 2015 -> 04:44 PM) Im not a huge comic book guy so this may be a dumb question, but unless the name is misleading, wouldnt Superman be able to dismantle Batman pretty effortlessly? Superman could easily kill Batman but this is Superman, he dosen't want to kill anybody so when he fights Batman he will take a more evasive approach. Batman knows that Superman could easily kill him, so he takes a series of precautions like the armored power suit and kryptonite to give himself a chance.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jul 10, 2015 -> 06:19 PM) I don't really see Nolan doing anything but original projects going forward. I think Batman was his lone foray into someone else's work Supposedly the script stems from a dream that he had add a teenager

QUOTE (shoeless_joe21 @ Jul 8, 2015 -> 12:44 PM) I'm always selfishly disappointed when exciting up-and-coming writer/directors start taking on blockbuster projects. It's hard to fault anyone for raking in millions of dollars, but it's sad to see a young talent limit themselves creatively. I wouldn't go that far. Remember Aquaman is a DC character and DC is owned by Warner Brothers, who is known to be the most filmmaker friendly studio in Hollywood, they gave Jeff Nichols final cut on Midnight Special, his first studio film. This isn't Disney/Marvel where you have to follow a strict formula, and aren't allowed any freedom to express yourself, which is Edgar Wright left Ant-Man and Ava DuVernay passed on Black Panther. And whether its an original film or a blockbuster, there is going to be limitations.

QUOTE (shoeless_joe21 @ Jul 7, 2015 -> 08:26 AM) Thanks, that sounds really encouraging. Jeff Nichols has had a tremendous start to his career, and my expectations for Midnight Special were already pretty high. Also, someone told me I look like Michael Shannon a few weeks ago. I really don't know how to feel about that, lol. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Jul 7, 2015 -> 08:27 AM) This sounds really good. I'm going to have to keep an eye out for this one. I really liked Jeff Nichols last movie "Mud". I was shocked that it was that good because it was an assembly cut, it was in the very stages of the editing process, so there was no special effects, a temp score and what not. He's a nice guy too. He answered every question and responded to everyone in the room and afterwards he took time to speak with everyone. He was in line to direct Aquaman but he chose to do another original flick.

http://blogs.indiewire.com/theplaylist/sxs...e-film-20150315 Me and my partner saw a very rough cut of this movie during the fall of last year, and it was amazing. Very John Carpenter-esque and super intense, the scenes with the boy were just fantastic. There's going to be an update at Comic Con, so check it out

QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jul 6, 2015 -> 10:33 PM) Any young guys signed a year ago or later in the minors doing well and a name to keep an eye on? The DSL team has some dudes, the AZL affiliate has some dudes too.

QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Jul 6, 2015 -> 10:14 PM) Good grief, what is going on down there? I know those kids are very young but were the Sox scouts off about Mota's defense? Don't put too much stock into it.

QUOTE (Brian @ Jul 6, 2015 -> 09:19 PM) I haven't gotten invited to anything. Like high school all over. I'll ask the studio rep tomorrow about what to do on the site, if they're giving anyone trouble. But I didn't get invited to any recently either

QUOTE (Brian @ Jul 6, 2015 -> 03:41 PM) Heard its awful. Just like it looks. I'm going to give it a shot, Ryan Reynolds is actually a pretty good actor.

QUOTE (LDF @ Jul 4, 2015 -> 12:34 AM) for me, 1) Whiplash tie with Unbroken i thought American Sniper, at the time was ok, now, after reading on him, i hated the movie. The worst movie that I have seen in a long time, American Sniper. Fun Fact: Chris Pratt was supposed to star in that film and Spielberg was supposed to direct. The studio head agreed to back the movie only if Cooper starred, he originally intended just to be a producer. And Spielberg dropped the film because budgetary reasons, he wanted to make it an super intense psychological thriller and use a real baby.

I'll make a more detailed opening post later but in a recent article Kiley McDaniel said that 2 of the 5 top players for the 2016 international cycle already have deals in place. Well, Keith Law recently said that the Atlanta Braves have a deal in place with top prospect Kevin Maitan.

An article on the official team website list Franklin Reyes as 6'3 205lbs, Tatis Jr. as 6'3 185lbs, Vasquez as 6' 170lbs and Nova as 6'1 170lbs

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 3, 2015 -> 02:42 PM) The NHL and NBA have world wide drafts. I think the MLB can manage. The NHL draft selects 210 players all from North America and Europe, the NBA draft selects 60 players again mostly from North America and Europe. The MLB draft selects +1200 players as it is, and if they do an international draft they would dealing with third world nations, not to mention the system is pretty corrupt as it is.
