  1. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Nov 2, 2015 -> 06:43 PM) That rule has already been cast aside, Maul, Palpatine and Dooku already existed at once in the prequels No. During the events of Episode 1, Dooku was for lack of a better term a free agent, he left the Jedi Order after his meeting with Sifo Dyas and a disguised Sidious. So that means the only Sith were Sidious and Maul. After Obi Wan 'kills' Maul, there was only 1 Sith Lord. Yes, Maul does come back but not as Sith but as a Dark Jedi. Ventress and the Inquisutors are not Sith, but Dark Jedi as well. The Rule of Two was always in tact.
  2. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 2, 2015 -> 05:27 PM) I dont recall them being able to sense the force in Sith lords Jar Jar couldn't be a Sith because him being one would violate the Rule of Two. Theory disproved
  3. Nicole Kidman is joining Wonder Woman. Everything about that movie sounds amazing
  4. Our first report will be on Will Benson, over at Reddit. It will be posted after the world series
  5. At the festival office last night people got together and we screen a ton of prints (film reel + projector) and we watched a couple reels of Greed. That was very cool.

  7. QUOTE (LDF @ Oct 29, 2015 -> 11:34 PM) this has been done..... well many, many yrs ago. i think even before the sox WS. so since then many movies have been release since then, maybe changing the lineup. name your 10 scariest movies of all times with 1 the scariest and 10 the least. this is for Halloween tribute. Just my personal top ten, not in any particular order. Halloween Insidious Alien The Shining The Exorcist It Follows The Babadook The Omen Sinister Oculus
  8. Andy Weir, author of "The Martian", when asked if he's a Cubs fan due to the main character's fandom: "No I'm not. I just thought that would be just the thing to make Mark's pathetic situation more pathetic."
  9. QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 29, 2015 -> 04:08 PM) We've talked about the legend of The Room on here before. I don't get a kick out of awful movies for the sake of it so I never tried it. Probably never will. You got to check out Birddemic.
  10. QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Oct 29, 2015 -> 03:34 PM) This is a thread to discuss and review movies, not to try to impress people with information that nobody cares about. Have you noticed nobody positively engages you when you post that stuff? Post it in the catch all thread or something. I'm really going to reconsider my time here. Speaking of movie news. James Franco's movie about the making of The Room, called The Diaster Artist, where he plays Tommy Wiseau starts filling this December. If you have not seen The Room, I suggest you check it out. Its really the worst movie I have ever seen, it makes Birdemic and Troll 2 look like Citizen Kane. I know that they play at the Music Box regularly, so check out at the theater if you can.
  11. If anyone wants to come to the Film Festival, I have 6 vouchers that have gone unused. They are playing the movie, Spotlight, its about the Boston Globe's coverage of the 2003 Catholic Church Sex Abuse Scandals. If anyone wants them you can have them or I am giving them away to the people waiting in the rush line for tickets.
  12. Makes sense consdering that Secerson was an Oakland guy.
  13. QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Oct 27, 2015 -> 07:04 PM) We should make you your own thread where you can post this stuff that nobody cares about so I dont have to see it in a thread thats supposed to be about movies. I am a little lost but how is what I posted not related to movies/films? I may be a little lost but something tells me you're definetely not up to par.
  14. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Oct 26, 2015 -> 05:57 PM) I could only imagine how I'd react if someone told me to come in on my off day only to can me. Everything you said points to you being an Ahole. Whether the person deserved it or not, they are a person. Firing someone, while the person might have made the actual decision easy on you, should be handled with class (or as much class as possible given the circumstances) and you clearly didn't do that. Sorry, I didn't see you in my house when we had our discussion. How did it go exactly.
  15. Worked for the Film Festival and the nightmare is almost over. Couldn't have had a better time
  16. The number one player of 2017, Ronald Washington will graduate early and will be eligible for the 2016 draft.
  17. QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Oct 26, 2015 -> 06:13 PM) I can maybe understand firing someone that really deserves it giving you a good feeling, but having them come in on an off day to do it.... That's terrible. No other way. Can't do it on filming days because the schedules are super super tight, this needed to be done in private and I needed my back. And I don't feel sorry at all it really GOT to that point. People didn't want to show up and he was wasting a lot of my money.
  18. QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 17, 2015 -> 01:29 PM) Someday when you get fired, we'll see how you like it. I'm at least competent at what I do and more importantly I'm not an asshole. I don't think that will be happening to me anytime soon. QUOTE (raBBit @ Oct 17, 2015 -> 03:01 PM) That's kind of disturbing. Maybe it's just me, but I would hate to fire someone. Even if they were incompetent. The cinematographer I hired, tired to do my job, treated other crew and the cast like s***. Everytime I dressed/composed the scene he would always try to change what I did. Not to mentioned all the film he wasted. I called him and said that he should come in duringn an off day so that we could start putting together an edit. And then fired him. I didn't feel an ounce bad and I told him that he should find a new profession.
  19. Jason Heyward for 500M and 50% ownership stake in the team
  20. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Oct 20, 2015 -> 04:07 PM) I usually skip watching I,II and III all together. They are fine for telling the back story and there is a couple of cool action scenes, but for the most part they are not good movies. Why?
  21. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Oct 20, 2015 -> 03:52 PM) Yeah I read that. I agree with the vast majority of what he says, although not to the same degree. The Darth Vader being a total scary bad ass at first and then transitioning to a 2nd in command puss never made sense to me, but I figured, you know, the Force from the emperor or whatever. Has anyone re-watched the movies in that order mentioned in the comments? IV, V, I (or skip it), II, III, VI. I wonder if that helps. Thats how I watch them. Its called machete order.
  22. QUOTE (shipps @ Oct 20, 2015 -> 12:16 PM) I've heard the same thing. That will be stupid. lets hold judgement till we see how the storytellers execute it.
  23. QUOTE (bmags @ Oct 20, 2015 -> 01:39 PM) Re: age, one thing is that kids can watch those movies. They aren't particularly violent and obviously very little language. So it's one of those movies you can watch when you are young and feel like its an adult movie. 2) The whole mid-late 90s re-release in theaters. Lots of parents took their kids to those. Unfortunately it had all of those stupid extra scenes. It's just hard not to have seen starwars as it has basically had a theatrical release in every decade at this point. First movie I ever saw in a theater was ANH, I was 4 or 5 and I still have the ticket stubs.
  24. I got to tickets to the Star Wars Marathon and 5 for the 18th and 2 for my birthday, the 19th.
  25. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Oct 18, 2015 -> 10:22 AM) The way I'm reading Joshua's post is that the cubs took the best player available when their turn to pick came up. Who was #1 on their draft board and who was picked before the cubs is irrelevant. What matters is the players that were available at the time of the cubs pick and how the cubs viewed the available players. Joshua, am I reading your post correctly? I'm pretty sure I am and in agreement with you. Yes, you are.
