  1. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Jun 23, 2015 -> 11:26 AM) If we continue taking pitchers and end up having a surplus of pitching talent, then we can always trade them for hitting. It's not that big a deal, I don't mind sticking to your strengths. They need to be able to develop their own bats.

  5. Go to www.wbtickets.com and register, this is what I use to go to advance movie screenings. Always check your email because they might have some cool stuff, that's far off. I get to see BvS a couple weeks early thanks to this site. I'm mostly familiar with WB as a studio, but once I get the site to the other studios I'll let you know.
  6. QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 22, 2015 -> 09:38 PM) Composer James Horner, plane crash The definition of prolific he scored over 100 films
  7. Whenever I brought up the possibility of the Sox trading Q, it seemed like people wanted burn me to the stake, but I digress. Anyway, I was thinking about the Nats as a trade partner for Q at least during the offseason. Both Jordan Zimmermann and Doug Fister are free agents after the season. I think they both sign elsewhere, so that leaves them with two holes in their rotation. They are going to be looking for quality arms as they see themselves as contenders. The only starters that they have under contract are Scherzer, China Doll and Gio Gonzalez. So I ask this, would you trade Q to the Nationals in exchange for Lucas Giolito and change (Your pick of lower level prospects, comp picks, international bonus slots and/or cash)? I know I would. Giolito gives you a monster arm and the more comp picks you have the more talent you can add to the system through the draft.
  8. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Jun 23, 2015 -> 01:48 AM) And the 2010 team didn't make the playoffs. And in 2011, they had the 23rd pick, and forfeited it to sign Adam Dunn. Had that 2010 team gone just 14-16 over that stretch, they would have had the 10 pick in the draft (protected pick, which means they keep it when they sign Dunn), and could have chosen from the likes of George Springer, Jose Fernandez, and Sonny Gray, all who were in that range. So thanks for helping prove my point. If they aren't going to make the playoffs, I want the best draft pick possible to be able to avoid situations like 2010 where instead of potentially having one of the best young players in baseball, they give up a pick for a free agent like Adam Dunn. If you’re out of the playoffs, might as well get the highest pick possible.
  9. After doing some research across the interweb it has become apparent to me that the 2016 draft's strength is pitching, so for those of you hoping for a bat, sorry. There are some really intriguing arms in both the college and prep ranks.

QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Jun 22, 2015 -> 02:57 PM) True Detective was kinda boring and just an onslaught of characters, so far it seems like they felt like they couldn't create a replacement for McConaughey so they decided to just create a bunch of characters with flaws to make up for it. I'm still intrigued but disappointed with the start, hopefully the plot starts to move forward and is more intriguing. Ballers was ok, kinda expected more humor/tits and ass. I'll keep it going as a quasi replacement for Silicon Valley for my mindless entertainment before going to sleep Sunday nights. The Brink was actually better than what I expected, a lot funnier than I thought it would be. I don't get why people are so disappointed with the first episode. I liked it a lot because it took it's time introduring us to each of the 4 leads. That connection that we forged with them in episode 1 will pay off as the season goes on, I can say that now that the characters are introduced that the story is start picking up gradually. Remember the first season, things didn't take off till the fourth episode. I disagree with the 'compensating for McCounaghey' comment, you have to erase the first season from your head as this is an anthology series. And these 4 have nothing in common with Rust besides their love of whiskeys and profession (I've had Johnnie Walker Blue before, it's fantastic. Also love Jameson). I hated the Brink. Everyone here should check out, Deadwood if you haven't. And the Red Road, which is f***ing phenomenal.

After seeing the first few episodes, I will say that all the footage from the promos is from them. They're keeping the juicy stuff a secret.
  14. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 21, 2015 -> 03:44 PM) Disappointing season for Adams continues. Just needs to find a way to limit how many hits he allows. I think the goal for him is stretching his arm out, I hope he stays healthy.
  15. Amado Nunez drew 3 walks too
  16. QUOTE (oldsox @ Jun 20, 2015 -> 02:24 PM) It was the wrong move. Sale had plenty left. As soon as the first guy got on, you knew what was likely to happen. It did. He has had several bad outings. He is not a "lights out" closer. What if he leaves Sale in the game and he coughs it up?
  17. QUOTE (harkness @ Jun 20, 2015 -> 02:02 PM) If it was anything but a 1-0 game I MIGHT have put in Robertson. I don't give a flying eff what I'm paying Robertson. Win the game. I'll put Robertson in when its the right move not just because I paid him (Robertson has been far from money lately) But at the least I let Sale start the inning. Pitch counts are so overrated. It was the right move, he's one of the best closers in the game. He had a rare bad outing.
  18. I would've taken Sale out too, he threw 125 pitches his last start and you're playing a guy $11M to close games out in Robertson, who has been money but unfortunately had a bad outing.
  19. QUOTE (Mike F. @ Jun 20, 2015 -> 01:27 PM) Abreu has been a major disappointment too honestly. How, nobody throws him pitches to hit. He's basically been neutralized due to the or performances of the players around him. Even with that being said he's having a good year

  21. There's some serious talent on the AZL team. Even Luis Castillo. ...
  22. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Jun 19, 2015 -> 10:10 PM) The only trade Hahn made in the offseason was bad. Otherwise, he just signed 4 players, 2 of whom are good, 1 bad and 1 so-so. He also missed the opportunity to peddle Alexei. He wasn't able to make small trades to improve C. He put together a terrible bench. The Shark trade was not bad, the Sox got a legit #2 for a few fringe prospects. Actually it was a very good trade. I have said this before and I'll say it again, there is a serious lack of impact Cs across MLB. Teams with good depth at catcher are not going to trade whatever able bodies they have at the position. There are 25 GMs who are not satisfied with their catching situation. If you're going into the season expecting to contend, why trade Alexi? LaRoche was a smart move, one of the few guys on the team doing what he's supposed to do. Robertson has been great too. Hahn had a great offseason, this season rest on the players, that's who I blame.
  23. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Jun 18, 2015 -> 10:44 AM) When I think about the Sox and the 2016 draft I think, hitters hitters hitters! Any interesting prep/college hitters to keep an eye on? http://www.baseballamerica.com/high-school...ica-game-index/
  24. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 19, 2015 -> 02:33 PM) Unfortunately, with the way they're pitching right now, they don't exactly have the look of "team that really needs to add a starting pitcher". They could use a first baseman and I think the Sox have a 28 year old there who's pretty good and could bring a huge return.
