Do you watch other broadcasts? What team doesn’t have to do promos and annoying ad reads? It’s part of the job now. There are far worse broadcasting duos in MLB (and other sports quite frankly) than Jason & Stone. Your lens for comparison isn’t fair.

In all fairness we needed both pitching and hitting as both have been hit hard by injury yet again. The outright refusal to address either last winter is even more baffling when they have lost 10 of 11 and are playing worse than any of us could have imagined.

I was open to the idea of trading Eloy if the return was right, but after another lengthy injury it would be selling low. There isn’t much value to trade without moving any of those core pieces you would want to build with and build around as you said. Adding to this core through FA was the way to go an we know how that went.

In the general sense of the OP, no, I don’t support a retool with this FO in charge. I would only be in favor or a retool/mini rebuild if only if JR handed over the reins as he has done with the Bulls, and a new team president cleaned house with new outside hire as GM. Hahn & Co have utterly failed to complete the rebuild and they do not deserve another try.

What can Vuc + Coby fetch in a trade? I’m not super plugged into free agency, but any legit defensive bigs available in the MLE range? Interior D + legit 3 point shooting does more for this team that whatever a declining Vuc does IMO.

Gobert’s contract is gross. Yes he’s a defensive monster but that much cap going to one side of the ball makes building a complete team incredibly difficult. If the contracts were closer even I would do Vuc+ for Gobert in a heartbeat, but I don’t know how you make a trade work with the Bulls cap situation. Utah probably wants more value in return as well, but matching the money and getting value would be a challenge. A Vuc trade for a defensive difference maker down low is very appealing to me though.

I’ve been keeping tabs on Twitter. I so wish a few more of these kids were close enough to the bigs to hope on.
