  1. Its an indictment for sure, but I don't think the two are connected enough to enter their thought process.
  2. I mean, they didn't give a shit about bringing back TLR and there're was plenty of negative reaction to that. If they aren't chasing Conforto they won't care if he goes to SD after the deal. They can't control what other teams do.
  3. I hope so. He's just too inconsistent and doesn't impact winning enough IMO. There has to be another 5 option that can pass the way they need but also protects the rim. And doesn't fall in love with jacking 3s.
  4. We best get used that gas can giving up dingers.
  5. They are both regulars around the Sox fan Twittersphere so I doubt they are in the game of making shit up, but who knows if they actually know anything.
  6. Lonzo helps the point of attack D, but is that enough? PWill doesn't move the needle much either. If Vuc is going to provide little to no interior D, he has to give you more than 10 points vs playoff teams.
  7. Keuchel sucks ass, that is the magical need for a starter. His 2nd half last season is the magical need for a starter. He is currently in the rotation, but an upgrade is desperately needed. I know how this team operates so I’m not expecting it, but that doesn’t erase the need. With the dearth of quality pitching in AAA and a limited number of innings from Kopech, the need is there. Whether they address that need is another story.
  8. In all fairness, the payrolls were pretty low when those deals were offered. Landing a big FA is a failing of Hahn’s no doubt, along with wasting gobs of money on peripheral talent, but overall payroll expenditures are on ownership as well. They need a willingness to spend big on top of a large payroll number along with wise investments in FA, neither of which this org is known for.
  9. Sox need both a SP and RF, but Keuchel starting is asking to be shelled every 5 days. As much as I’ve banged on about how terrible Sheets would be in RF on a regular basis, I think the need for a starting pitcher is greater *if* there is a decision to fill only one hole.
  10. That’s wasn’t my point. The White Sox holes and all will be competing with teams with similarly constructed rosters. Simply refusing to address your needs is stacking the deck against yourself. The Sox will never spend like LA both by circumstance and by choice, but sitting on your hands pretending they have enough during their supposed contention window simply isn’t good enough.
  11. No one is expecting the Sox to spend like drunken sailors on FA. We all know better. But simply refusing to address the longstanding holes on the roster is a choice.
  12. Meanwhile the Sox FO is content with a bad platoon of 1B in RF and a bunch of meh at 2nd.
  13. The Sox have signed Boras clients in recent years. That stigma no longer automatically applies.
  14. I will be right there with you. Every screw up is a self inflicted wound.
  15. What does Jesse Rodgers really know about who the Sox are or aren’t chasing, honestly?
  16. But claiming to have seen the books? That’s a stretch. What level of access would one need for that to be true? And then to spout about it on twitter using a normal personal account - not an obvious burner. There would be a serious breech in there somewhere, or “having seen the books” is an in accurate statement.
