It was 10 with the dual Wild Card. Jumping to 14 feels drastic. I could live with 12 depending on the format. Hell, do multiple do or die Wild Card games to whittle down a winner and roll into the Division series. More teams in, Division winners get a few extra days rest, problem solved.

A Wild Card best of 3 like 2020 would be welcome. Just whittle 14 down as soon as possible if they are dead set on 14.

It is the players largest bargaining chip to get what they are asking for. I can't say the players are opposed to post season expansion, but without proper compensation it does boil down to more work for less pay.

I said the other day that I thought the players would agree to $230M, it was just a matter of the owners moving there. If true that's a major sticking point that looks to have a working compromise.

Just shows how desperately owners want 14 teams. Still paltry numbers compared to where the players are.

Except these have very publicly not been normal negotiations, but you still insist that they are. I have never claimed to have more negotiating experience than you, I in fact have never been a part of a union negotiation as there aren't unions in my field. I have however worked for myself for nearly 20 years, and do know a thing or two about fighting for what I deserve with every contract that I sign. What I have done is debunked, repeatedly, what you have claimed but actual reporting does not bear out. And when asked for evidence to support your claims you deflect or attack the poster asking. You have nearly forty years on me, but you resort to childish behavior when called out. I have pleaded with you before not to insult the intelligence of the posters you respond to, but here we are again. It's tired.

I spent an hour of my afternoon, mostly for my own amusement, to present the reading audience with receipts. You've proven you're full of shit countless times in this thread and I backed it up with your own statements. I didn't even get to the part where you claimed you were basically the expert on negotiations based simply on your own work experience, or even to the past month's specious, misleading, or non-factual statements. You can deflect and get grumpy because you don't like getting called out all you'd like, but you're just fueling it all the more. The evidence is in this thread. You have sided with ownership in your own words and repeatedly bashed the players for being greedy and spoiled. We've all been reading it all winter. No amount of deflection, refusal to acknowledge the truth, gaslighting, changing the subject, or accusations of name calling can erase that. Lashing out even further doesn't help your cause at all either, it just makes you look small and sad. Peace
