  1. Tony La Russa is not a victim. For fucks sake.
  2. They also didn't have several ready-made replacement already in house when Grifol was hired.
  3. He's used to dying on a hill alone on an island. I'm not sure he'll even notice.
  4. TLR's first tenure here was before my time, but it seems really weird for Sox fans to celebrate his HOF credentials. What did he do here that contributed to his HOF? Gene Lamont had a better winning % and just as many post season appearances as TLR's first stint and we sure don't celebrate him...
  5. Many of us were skeptical before the DUI news came out, and even more so when they moved forward with him while essentially sweeping it under the rug. TLR was not only as bad as many of us predicted he would be, being out of the game for a decade, but worse. Aside from him looking like a rotting corpse most days and literally falling asleep in the dugout, the DUI was not in the forefront of the valid criticism of his second tenure here. Why a few people want to whitewash or gaslight is beyond me.
  6. Is Shohei a player to be named later? Otherwise...
  7. \ It is not puritanical to take issue with a man who drove drunk frequently enough have multiple DUI's on his record. Him being a baseball HOF doesn't cover for him being a shitty person in real life.
  8. Their entire top 10.
  9. Between Montoyo, Santos, and Jirchelle, it will be one of them. Getz might do a few token interviews but JR makes these decisions and will go with someone with whom he is already familiar.
  10. I agree. I don't think the decision on the next manager will be up to him though.
  11. Robert to Seattle makes a ton of sense. They are desperate for a difference making bat and have the prospects to get it done. Robert's deal is probably very attractive to a cost conscious owner as well.
  12. You presume it will be up to Getz...
  13. A team full of Moldy's is bound to be a winner!
  14. Add a few extra Moldy’s and Brebbia’s? Heaven forbid they go one single season without burning stacks of cash on the fringes.
  15. Paying another team to take Benintendi’s dead weight off their hands is the dumbest possible use of trade value, which is of course why we are fearful it could happen. It would be so very White Sox to half-ass another rebuild chasing quick fixes with money freed up through burning your most valuable trade chips.
  16. Which is never happening as long as JR has anything connection to this org…
  17. He might be a drunken dinosaur, but he seems to understand the concept of plausible deniability.
  18. He has already eclipsed his previous max innings pitched in a season. Him continuing on this pace would still be an outlier. The early the skepticism from many of us wasn't unwarranted.
  19. Way way too many visibly empty seats for this to be a sellout...
  20. Yes, finding someone as oft injured in the most predictable and absurd ways will be difficult to replicate.
  21. They're going to pump & dump him right into a DFA after another lengthy IL stint...
