  1. Yes, finding someone as oft injured in the most predictable and absurd ways will be difficult to replicate.
  2. They're going to pump & dump him right into a DFA after another lengthy IL stint...
  3. Robert's Gold Glove might want a word.
  4. When the propensity for stupid requires "creative" solutions...
  5. They can have Kopech free of charge, with the caveat that they have to take back Pedro too.
  6. I emailed Brooks, and this was the best he could do...
  7. Especially when he has an "outside" hire in Charlie Montoyo already on staff.
  8. Declined his option after Kim Ng was essentially shown the door. He might be the most sought after candidate next winter, I don't know why he'd want to jump from one dumpster fire with a shitty owner to another.
  9. Paul DeJong: 9BB, 82K, .283 OBP. Only the White Sox would think that's quality.
  10. Is it uncouth to DFA a guy on the IL?
  11. Kicking their own asses is a far greater collective effort than this team is capable of.
  12. Did Pedro have any choice words for DeJong's game ending brain-fart? No?
  13. Someone saw some oily tire tracks while high or tripping balls and thought, perfect.
  14. Which would seem to contradict the rumors that AK turned down picks in favor of Giddey. Which, if true, boggles the mind if they are in fact moving on from that ill-fitting trio.
  15. Robert has definitely improved near the wall, no argument there. I still think Julio is the better defender in CF, and he has played in nearly the same amount of games in < 3 years as Robert has in almost 5. Again, I don't say any of this as a knock on Robert. I were starting a franchise from scratch, I'd probably choose Robert, but if he and Julio were on the same team, I'm not moving Julio out of CF.
  16. Julio can stay healthy, and is far better near the wall. I'd need to see the defensive metrics, but having watched both a ton, Julio is the superior CF. And that isn't a knock on Robert's defense at all.
  17. So a Vic led team? Surely that team will be in the playoff chase...
  18. What the hell does this move accomplish exactly??
  19. Had he stayed healthy this season, it would he an entirely different conversation, but his injury concerns will likely have a real impact on what teams will be willing to give up.
  20. The Ohtani rule allows him to remain at DH after he exits the game as a pitcher. A 1B moving to P for an inning would be legal under the regular rules, and he could sub back to 1B and remain in the game, but its a really complicated scenario to make work with the other substitutions. Not to mention warming him up in the pen.
  21. Hypothetically, as an opener, he could start on the mound and DH a la Ohtani. If he started at 1B and came in as a reliever, someone would have to sub to 1B and it would be difficult to warm him up in the pen. I don't think the second scenario is at all feasible.
  22. Mention them three times and they magically appear...
