  1. Have been getting my jerseys through this store. They are well made and I've got no complaints about the price either: https://www.jerseyswholesalefactory.com.co/
  2. March 25, 2021 – Injuries can happen at any time, but needless injuries, in spring training to boot, can take the heart right out of a club, the fanbase and completely change the fortunes of a season. On this day the White Sox announced that Eloy Jimenez, one of the best young sluggers in baseball at the time would be lost for most of the season, because of a ruptured left pectoral tendon. He suffered the injury when getting hung up on the top of the fence trying to catch a ball hit by the A’s Sean Murphy the day before, a ball that wasn’t catchable. Sox broadcaster Steve Stone was particularly critical of Jimenez even attempting to try to catch a meaningless home run in a spring training game and putting himself at risk. Since getting called up in 2019, Jimenez had been injured multiple times when dealing with trying to play left field. His injury was more common in football and most likely happened on impact when his left arm hit the top of the fence. After an intensive rehab lasting four months, he returned to the team on July 26 but injury issues continued to dog him and he was traded to the Orioles in 2024.
  3. My wishes for the season: That Sox fans, who have gone through so much since the start of the 2007 season, have a reason to get some satisfaction out of the year. At least those few who are left. That the young players actually show some promise for the future. That injuries don't gut the team yet again this year since they have very little depth. That the Sox actually play some meaningful games past June 1. That the Sox don't lose 100+ games this year. (Although with this pitching staff that is certainly possible.) That JR finally understands he is destroying the franchise and turns it over to Ishbia in the here and now. Short of that, that Sox fans live to see Ishbia take over and turn things around. Play ball!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  4. Sun-Times story last week said he can't throw because of it. Don't know how it impacts his hitting.

  6. Fisk, McDowell, A.J. Thomas...they simply have a way of alienating some of the best players they ever had. And those four are just off the top of my head, I'm guessing there are probably more.
  7. Pitching will dictate any real progress this year by the franchise and frankly that starting rotation doesn't look very good at all.
  8. According to Front Office Sports Thomas wants at least 50-thousand dollars and Nike and Fanatics are also named as part of the lawsuit.
  9. Another self inflicted wound by an incompetent, dysfunctional and inept organization.
  10. King, McDowell, Hibbard and Melido Perez was basically the rotation in 1990 and they were very good.
  11. Only if Smith can consistently find the strike zone.
  12. Let's hope the way they played the final week of the spring doesn't carry over to the regular slate of game. They go in having lost five straight and the pitching has been awful.
  13. March 23, 1989 - The Sox traded Kenny Williams (who would eventually become the club’s G.M. and vice president) to Detroit for pitcher Eric King. Williams never achieved any measure of consistency in the big leagues. He played three years in Chicago and his best year was 1987. He had 11 home runs, 50 RBI’s and stole 21 bases, batting .281. King at least, had two solid years with the Sox including a spectacular 1990 campaign going 12-4 with a 3.25 ERA with two shutouts and 151 innings pitched, for the “Doin’ the Little Things” White Sox who’d shock baseball by compiling 94 wins in 1990.
  14. Sun Times story explains why the move was made, apparently Lee's defense was (is) the issue: https://chicago.suntimes.com/white-sox/2026/03/22/white-sox-sign-catcher-reese-mcguire-leaving-korey-lee-as-odd-man-out
  15. Guessing when Teel returns McGuire is out the door but by then Lee probably will be out of the organization.

  17. This franchise has basically been unwatchable for years.
  18. Anything is possible but it is hard to imagine Ishbia making more serious ownership mistakes than JR has done.
  19. Caray was never a serious threat to get the club.
  20. March 21, 1900 - After a meeting with the Chicago Cubs, the way was cleared for Charles Comiskey to bring his team from St. Paul, Minnesota to Chicago. They would set up shop on the South Side of the city. In fact, though, Comiskey was bringing the team to town regardless of whether the Cubs approved it or not. The meeting was set up though to try to avoid any conflicts. They would have immediate success winning the 1900 pennant going 82-53 and beating Milwaukee by four and a half games. March 21, 1931 – The White Sox defeated the New York Giants, 11-6, in the first night game ever played between American or National League teams. The contest took place in front of 2,500 fans at Buff Stadium in Houston, under 235-kilowatt bulbs held aloft by six steel towers, each 120 feet high. The game was arranged only 11 days before it was played. There were 23 total hits in the game, but the score was deadlocked 6-6 after nine innings. In the top of the 10th, Bill Cissell scored Willie Kamm with a single for the game-winning RBI. Luke Appling also clubbed a two-run double in the rally. March 21, 1997 - The Sox suffered a major blow to their hopes for a championship when star third baseman Robin Ventura destroyed his ankle and lower leg on a slide at home plate in a spring game against the Red Sox. The injury was so horrific that a woman sitting in the stands passed out when she saw the result. It was caused because his spikes caught in the wet, muddy, ground. The result was that Ventura’s foot was pointed 180 degrees opposite of the way a foot is supposed to be. The injury took place only 10 days before the season opener and the Sox were left in a state of shock. G. M. Ron Schueler announced to the media the team would be looking for a replacement, and then did nothing to fill the void staying in-house with Greg Norton and Chris Snopek. They combined for five home runs and 36 RBI’s in 105 games. Thankfully after a rigorous rehabilitation process, Robin would be back to play in 54 games that season and continue to have an outstanding Major League career after he left the Sox as a free agent. March 21, 2017 - Coming off of a terrific half-season in the majors the White Sox signed ascendant star Tim Anderson to a six-year, 25-million-dollar extension that could have extended to eight years and 51.5 million with club options. At the time, it was the biggest contract extension ever given a player with less than one year of MLB service. Despite that, most observers immediately regarded this extension as a steal for the White Sox, and it certainly turned out to be so at first, as he’d go on to win a batting championship, make a pair of All-Star games and hit a dramatic game-winning home run in the “Field of Dreams” game against the Yankees in Iowa in his White Sox tenure. The Sox even made him the centerpiece of the rebuild using him in an advertising campaign called “Change the Game!” But off the field issues and controversies on it, as well as seemingly always being injured turned a lot of the fan base against Anderson and his performance on the field slipped drastically. In 2023, Anderson had a horrific season, both in the batter’s box and in the field and because of that the White Sox did not pick up his option for 2024, and he signed with Miami. After he was released there, he signed a minor league deal with the Angels for 2025 but was again released after only playing in 31 games.

  22. A nightmare scenario for Sox fans. By that time this franchise will completely be D.O.A. if he is still around.
  23. JR just lost his lunch! 😄
  24. Saw a blurb in the Sun-Times that said he is probably going to start the season on the IL. Can't throw with that elbow.
  25. Talks with Merkin. According to the story he has now moved into the 10-week bullpen part of his rehab: https://www.mlb.com/whitesox/news/drew-thorpe-discusses-rehab-from-tommy-john-surgery
