8/17/2025 - Sox @ Royals - 1:10 pm - Davis v. Bergert
They've lost 11 of 13, scored five runs in the last four games and for the 13th time the Sox took a lead into the 7th inning or later and lost the game. Wilson was responsible now for two and a half of those games. Not that it really would have made much difference but the bullpen is still terrible. Oh Taylor is NOT a relief pitcher, let the kid start.

When projecting possibilities two factors have to be in play: 1, Is JR still in charge for obvious reasons 2. How will the upcoming labor lockout/impasse impact revenue as well as JR's attitude towards things in the next few years if he is still in charge.

The Future of the White Sox TV Broadcast Team
Well from what I was told by some people involved it was more a question of JR simply not liking his style, his off the wall/pop culture comments and frequent analytics references. I don't think money factored in, JR simply didn't like him.

Interesting that the powers that be seem to have no issues with Schiff missing games but it was a real problem with Benetti.

Sox @ Royals 8/16
13 straight losses in Kansas City. Defies the law of averages...I wonder if that is a franchise record for most losses to an opponent on the road. Embarrassing. Have lost 10 of the last 12. Well on their way to 100+ losses.

“The 78” is alive and well for the Sox, Bears are 'advancing' Hammond development
They should tear the monstrosity down save for the columns and turn the area into a park/greenway/playgrounds
- Sox trade Andrew Vaughn to acquire Aaron Civale

White Sox fundamentals LOL 🤡 20th game this year the Sox held an opponent to three runs or less and loss. Pitching is giving them a chance in these games but the offense in non-existent. Just a bad club, when they get pitching they don't hit, when they score runs the pitching is awful. Only thing consistent is bad fundamentals and bad defense.

That how desensitized some Sox fans now are given the garbage they have been seeing on a regular basis since 2007.

ESPN wants MLB to return...
From the Athletic newsletter today: MLB has suitors Major League Baseball is in negotiations with four separate entities — Netflix, ESPN, NBC and Apple — on a new broadcast rights deal, The Athletic’s Andrew Marchand reports, and all four could win a share of games. NBC (and by extension Peacock) and Apple TV+ could get “Sunday Night Baseball” and even some playoff series. More details inside.

New farm system rankings...
Courtesy MLB.com: 17. Chicago White Sox 2025 preseason rank: 6 2024 midseason rank: 11 2024 preseason rank: 20 2023 midseason rank: 20 Top 100 Prospects: Braden Montgomery, OF (No. 33); Noah Schultz, LHP (No. 38); Colson Montgomery, SS/3B (No. 71); Billy Carlson, SS (No. 79); Caleb Bonemer, SS/3B (No. 88); Hagen Smith, LHP (No. 93) The White Sox tied the Cubs for the biggest drop (11 spots) from our preseason rankings, but that's largely a reflection of graduating Top 100 Prospects Kyle Teel and Edgar Quero and others to the Majors. After struggling for most of two years in Triple-A, Colson Montgomery has gotten his act together in the big leagues, and Braden Montgomery and Bonemer also have developed positively at the plate during their 2025 pro debuts. Schultz and Smith ranked as the best southpaw pitching prospects in baseball to start the year but have regressed.

8/13 Sox vs. Tigers 1:10PM
Another wasted pretty good pitching effort because of a dead and putrid offense. Must be frustrating for some of the pitchers. 19 times now the Sox have lost a game where they held an opponent to three runs or less.

White Sox right fielder Mike Tauchman was scratched from Wednesday’s lineup with a sore right shoulder. Manager Will Venable said he doesn’t know when the injury occurred, but noted that Tauchman’s injury had been bothering him the past couple of days. Tauchman is day to day and will continue to be evaluated. “He’s able to swing, just wasn’t to the point where we could put him in a game,” Venable said. “So we’ll see where he’s at, continue to get rehab treatment throughout the day and see where it’s at.” Losing Tauchman is a blow for a Sox team that entered Wednesday with the third-most runs scored in the second half (130). Tauchman is batting .277/.371/.441 and has been a steadying presence at the top of the Sox’ lineup.

Does it matter? Seriously, they'll go to where the McCaskey family can try to extort the most money or the best deal.

Hendriks gave up multiple home runs in the 9th inning before Anderson won it.

It was a wonderful summer, much like 1990 that seemed to just fly by.
