Yes. There's a lot of talk about the lack of infield depth but I am very intrigued by the high ceilings of Sosa, Bush, Curbelo, and Nunez. Obviously Madrigal as well but he's the one that gets praise. SP depth is really my only issue with our farm.
  2. How did you end up switching from Tigers to Sox?

I've been thinking this myself lately. I think he can be Juan Soto'd. He's that good
  4. I agree with every word of this. Based on raw power and plate discipline alone, Collins will have value in MLB even if he's just a 1B/DH.
  5. Steele Walker RBI triple.
  6. Now you look at threads like these while (all SSS) Rodon and Giolito are looking good, Moncada is blossoming, Collins and Robert have 2 home runs each in their debuts, and things don't seem so bad
  7. This needs to be a recurring joke in all the postgame threads this year
  8. I think @ptatc was just joking around anyway, at the idea that the then 7-1 Mariners could somehow positively regress.
  9. MLB leader in walks!
  10. It was awesome watching him bat twice with the bases loaded, getting 2 strikes on him both times, and still expecting him to do something amazing. And of course, he came through.
  11. If both healthy, Eloy and I don't think it will be very close. I don't see Moncada hitting any more than 25 or so this year while I think Eloy can get hot a few times and rattle off a bunch in a week's time. leaving him in the mid 30s
  12. I mean hey, maybe some models have them finishing 162-0!

  14. A series against the 7-1 Mariners actually could be a good thing in the sense that they're due for some negative regression. I also see Mike Leake lined up for Saturday, and IIRC he pitched against us last April as well and Moncada had like 10 total bases against him
  15. I was researching this for a Moncada article that I'm releasing tomorrow but it is also worth mentioning that of those 7 hits last year, 5 were singles and 2 were doubles. As you noted, he has a double and a home run after 0-2 counts this year. So in just 5 games, he has already matched his 2018 season extra base hit total after 0-2 counts. That's not just luck, IMO.
  16. Statistically, including defense, such a stretch would be almost impossible to replicate. It's hard to emphasize just how bad he has been. Brushing it off as a normal struggle is foolish.
  17. We got your left handed power hitter (technically a switch hitter but whatever)!
  18. Why wouldn't they?
  19. With the postponement, he'll now be needed on Tuesday since Lopez would be scheduled to start on 3 days rest
  20. Literally no prospect has a "very good chance" to be a true 5 tool player, and I don't know why Abrams of all people would be that godsend I mean how many true 5 tool players are there in baseball right now? Can't be more than a few, really
