  1. Based on his press conference, you just get the idea that he doesn't even know the team that well. I don't mean knowing them personally, I mean literally knowing who is on the roster. Hopefully he gets in contact with them all over the coming days
  2. What if we were supportive of the Abreu deal and dislike the La Russa hiring? I get your point but one is way worse than the other, IMO
  3. Well if we don’t hire TLR, I’d recommend you learn to like him
  4. Stroman likes a LOT of tweets, you have to scroll a lot. They’re all there
  5. I don’t know what you’re looking at, it’s all there for me
  6. Not true, 7 players knelt including Anderson, Abreu, Jimenez, Robert, and Fry
  7. I think the disconnect here is that TLR has literally said that any player who kneels during the anthem will get sent into the clubhouse. That's a lot different from a simple disagreement because it would lead to an unnecessary and avoidable fiasco
  8. I came across a list of the rest of the managerial candidates. Some interesting names here. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_the_verified_oldest_people
  9. I wanted Hinch but yeah, pretending like La Russa is some beacon of morality is laughable. I don't see why they couldn't have looked at other candidates more extensively
  10. I clarified in the post directly above yours
  11. I wouldn't say his defense was bad, but I think it definitely was overrated coming up, and you saw why this year. I don't think he has the range for the gold glove ceiling many think he has, but he can/should be average defensively. I've always maintained that Luis Robert is (was) the Sox prospect for which the term "gold glove defense" should be thrown around as often as it was for Madrigal... hopefully he wins it next week.
  12. If he were actually a good defender or baserunner then I'd like him, and no, I'm not just basing this off the 2020 season
  13. A full offseason (or longer, assuming another shortened season) of an anti-analytics crusade because of that Snell decision (which even analytics people don't support) is gonna be super annoying
  14. Yup- and for the record I was more referring to the last couple of things when I brought this up. His original comments on it are from 2016, but he doubled down on them this year
  15. The only dynamic I'm worried about is La Russa/Anderson
  16. Given the heightened importance of contracts this year, that seems like a huge overpay for a deal with minimal surplus value. That said, I don't see Cohen cutting salary anyway
  17. I would like this but I feel like Madrigal is the exact player TLR would love, bat leadoff, play all 162, etc.
  18. Texas and Georgia are lowkey inching towards Biden which would certainly be something. I think Biden wins, but we won't know that for sure until maybe a week after election day itself. As I expect a higher proportion of in-person election day voters to be voting for Trump, I think the results on the night of will be either in favor of Trump or very close. That will change as the mail-in/early votes get counted, IMO. Of course, it would also lead to plenty of speculation and accusations...
  19. I wouldn't completely hate Vaughn for Woodruff or something, but I just am uneasy with the idea of trading such a polished and powerful hitter to open up ABs for James McCann, who could very easily revert to a league-average or worse hitter
