  1. All the "facts" and "data points" you keep suggesting are literally just your opinions. Since 2019, McCann has slashed .276/.334/.474 (.808 OPS) and Grandal has been at .242/.373/.457 (.830 OPS). I don't care if you think McCann is better, but at least admit that it's all based on your own opinions and the eye test rather than some objective data set
  2. I actually have looked into this: when Tim Anderson is catching, Giolito has a 0.00 ERA. I think we’ve found our solution.
  3. Opening day and that start against the Cardinals where he couldn’t throw a strike in the first inning to save his life. I’m still really mad at Grandal for telling Giolito that he wasn’t allowed to throw strikes that inning.
  4. Sarris isn't a big Vaughn fan, and he cited his draft year minor league stats as the reason. I know he's connected, but obviously a 4 year deal for a DH locks Vaughn out of the long-term plans, and I feel like he's more willing than any writer to do that since he doesn't like Vaughn
  5. So Nightengale says the Sox preferred Brantley but couldn't afford him, and Stark is saying we're still in on Brantley. As weird as this sounds, I think I trust Nightengale here
  6. This is my biggest issue. You're basically guaranteeing large stretches of Engel/Garcia as your starting RF
  7. Nah, I would be pissed if they let a 60 game season cloud their judgment over 5 consecutive prior seasons of a wRC+ above 100 with solid defense
  8. I'm pretty much down the middle on this move. I really liked Dunning but Lynn is awesome and it feels good to be on this side of trades again. Hoping we can extend him for another year or two though. Lynn, Joc, and Q would be a good offseason. All three are very underrated on this board IMO
  9. I thought this was possible too but someone asked Passan and it's real
  10. Damn. I've always really liked McClure. Wouldn't be surprised if he turns into a competent #4/5.
  11. I've been increasingly skeptical of these accounts, but all 3 of the main ones seemed to be on point today. I'm still not convinced that they're all different people, but maybe they're all legit
  12. When Joc signs with the Cardinals tomorrow, we can blame this guy for old time's sake
  13. There were some on Friday that named Darvish specifically that went down after like 20 mins. I didn't screenshot though
  14. NSC and the Portillo's account both seem to have been hinting at something like this over the past few days, including through since deleted tweets. I would like this trade assuming the big money owed to them both means we aren't giving up any super valuable prospects
  15. Unless they're doing something crazy like a package of Darvish/Contreras/Bryant, I highly doubt any Cubs player has enough surplus value to necessitate Vaughn
  16. I don't see why anyone wouldn't. It's not my money, and the team would instantly become the best in the AL for the foreseeable future
  17. So in Trevor Bauer's latest vlog, he says he is speaking to fellow MLB players about their thoughts about the league and how they can make the game better. But all the players he spoke to were either ex-teammates, Adam Cimber, Jared Hughes (Mets), or Lucas Giolito. I'm sure some interesting things were shared on that last call
  18. In recent years, the U.S. hasn't even been secretive about it. It's painfully obvious that billionaires are running and simultaneously ruining the country, but most people just don't care
  19. And Joc is better offensively than Rosario, so you’re really not sacrificing anything
  20. If you're going to base your opinion of him on a 126 PA sample, you need to have something more than just the results of the PAs. As someone who watched many of them, he was killing the ball and seemed to be pretty unlucky. He had a .270 BABIP which, for a player of his caliber, is probably at least 60 points below what it would actually be over a real sample at A+
  21. Vaughn after his spring training contract extension
