  1. Right, so it's a race issue. They were protesting racially-motivated police shootings, in case you weren't aware. If you think that's akin to people attempting to overthrow the government because their preferred candidate lost an election, everything I said applies
  2. To clarify because I'm not sure if the sarcasm will come across, the Blue Lives Matter folks love to pretend that police officers are some marginalized group, while ignoring that, unlike actual marginalized groups, they typically have the option to leave their group (i.e. get a different job, retire, etc). Even if you want to argue that the status of their group is irrelevant, I'm not sure how one can call police officers marginalized when they consistently receive little or no punishment for murder. If anything, they're usually above the law. Trying to equate criticism of them to racism (or insert prejudice here) is a great way of demonstrating that you've never thought critically about a race-related issue
  3. For sure, because people are born as a specific race just as they're born as police officers. Totally comparable
  4. That's their play, from what I'm seeing online. They're claiming these weren't Trump supporters and that it was all George Soros, or something
  5. This is a new one: This claim of election fraud is disputed, and this Tweet can’t be replied to, Retweeted, or liked due to a risk of violence 3:17 PM · Jan 6, 2021·Twitter for iPhone
  6. I'm too young to remember 9/11 but I truly feel like this day might be remembered as much as it. It has to be the most historically cited day in the country's history since then, right? I mean, I knew this was coming, but watching it all unfold is still just absolutely surreal
  7. I'm with you, for the most part. I think people are too quick to lazily write him off as a volume scorer on a bad team, and nothing more, while ignoring that he is a great shooter, quite efficient, and does his damage against defenses that know he's the only threat on the floor. I just need to see some improvement with playmaking and/or off-ball defense to feel ok with the Bulls giving him another contract, assuming he isn't traded. If tonight was any indication, both areas of his game have seen significant growth
  8. Seeing some networks officially call it for Warnock, and I doubt Ossoff gives up his lead. What a wildly successful night it was for Democrats
  9. Even though his shot was off, the 3 possessions before he hit that shot were a Thad Young miss, a Thad Young miss, and a Thad Young turnover. Young has been solid this year, and much better than he was last year, but I like that LaVine recognized that even on an off shooting night, he needs to be the one taking those big shots at the end of games. That's quite a few clutch moments for him this year
  10. It was cool to watch LaVine distribute so much. His shot was off and he knew it, but instead of becoming a net negative like he normally would on such nights, he made great passes and even played some solid defense. These were the Bulls I thought we'd see last year. Not a real contender or anything, but perhaps in that 7-10 conference play-in range
  11. I know a lot of you dislike Hahn, but he can't be dumb enough to make a burner account with his own initials as the username
  12. I guess there can be multiple assistant GMs, but I thought that was Hahn's title ever since the TLR hire?
  13. And the Arenado stuff was some random MLB Intel pop-up account that was so off base that even the official White Sox account started trolling it
  14. Same. I think Richards has some intriguing upside, but he's the kind of guy you sign to be your ~#7 SP on the depth chart (in theory, obviously you'd start him in MLB if healthy) because he just has zero track record of staying healthy over the past 6 years. Quintana is much more limited but he's a much better fit for a roster that needs another innings eater.
  15. I wouldn't say Yates was bad in 2020, since he pitched just a few innings, and I've read on this board that the specific elbow surgery he is returning from has a very high rate of full recovery relative to TJS and other arm surgeries. I prefer Hendriks, but I don't think Yates is as risky as some presume
  16. I wouldn't be happy about this personally, especially once Darvish goes to the Twins and we have to face him 4x per year
  17. I'm really surprised that it was even 50/50 on the last question. I would've guessed 0 saying yes.
  18. Thank you. I have been far from thrilled with the Sox offseason, but I feel as though the Lynn conversations are often disingenuous. He is far from the same pitcher he was prior to 2019, and that's a good thing.
  19. None of what he says means anything anyway, because he made the same exact comments after his first DUI
  20. Not that it matters anymore, but this was one of Sanders' most discussed issues, so there was definitely at least one candidate talking about it
  21. It's pretty much what you assumed at the end there, but the entire logic behind it is just an extension of trickle-down/Reaganomics, which we know doesn't work
  22. Exactly, I think we have room to take on that risk. I also think 2020 was Rosenthal's first truly healthy year in awhile. I know you're right but I'm gonna pretend they have an actual plan for my own sanity
  23. Yeah, I don't get why the Robertson contract gets lumped in with LaRoche, Samardzija type acquisitions. Sure, we ended up trading him, but over the course of the contract, he pitched exactly as expected, if not better. Did the one game against the Royals just absolutely destroy fan perception?
  24. Have been advocating for Yates or Trevor Rosenthal. Problem is, given how (relatively) cheap those guys are compared to Hendriks, I'm not sure what else the team is gonna be spending on. Wondering if Hahn is regretting his "stay tuned" comment
