  1. The one thing many (myself included) have been overlooking about the TLR hire is that the sac bunts are totally back. I'll always cherish the literal one year we let them die
  2. For sure. That's why I'd be content to continue quarantining as I have been since March if I don't get the vaccine. That said, I'm pretty sure I'll end up getting it as soon as it's made available to me, in spite of my concerns
  3. Exactly. It's the long-term effects that won't be observed due to the time crunch that worry me. I'll probably get it regardless, I always get vaccines and I understand that the odds are very high that extended testing and time would not reveal any sort of long-term consequences. At the same time, I think it's a valid concern and wouldn't fault someone for using it as a reason to not get it. Anti-vaxxers, on the other hand, are a whole other story
  4. But if that were the case, I think the connections would be coming from Bob Nightengale and verified reporters like that, not from random burner accounts
  5. "Drunk driving is cool, snowflake" is such an appalling position to take, and the amount of people going with it (more so on Twitter than ST) is discouraging
  6. A bit, sure, but Pomeranz at least had a track record of health. I didn't think his deal was as outrageous as this one, primarily for that reason.
  7. Agreed. As long as those prospects aren't Vaughn or Kopech, I'll probably be happy. They can trade any of Cease, Madrigal, Stiever, Collins, Adolfo, and *maybe* one of the Dalquist/Thompson/Kelley tier if it means they're getting a significant upgrade
  8. I'm trying to think about what this means for the market. $11 million for a guy with 26 innings last year (great innings, but his first quality work since 2015) is ridiculous for what we've been told is a depressed market. Is spending gonna be higher than we anticipated?
  9. Not much. I think people just didn't really know about his style and his flaws so they were upset when they came to light this season. Plus, low-BA/high-OBP players rarely get their due from the masses regardless.
  10. You're crazy. James McCann has never made a mistake in his life
  11. I will say it's nice that the "irrationally hated by Soxtalk" player is no longer Yoan Moncada, but some of the Grandal hate is genuinely hilarious. There was one post a few weeks ago suggesting that the starting pitchers had literal fights over not having to throw to him
  12. Yeah, I was gonna say Dodgers. Not sure about the Yankees- I'd probably take the Sox lineup over theirs even as is.
  13. The plus with Springer is that he, for his career, actually hits RHP better than LHP (although he hits them both very well, of course). If he is signed, however, I don't think the only LHH (or switch hitters) would be Grandal and Moncada. If they spend so much money on Springer, I doubt they'd also shell out for any FA SP aside from Quintana types. I believe a Springer signing might foreshadow Madrigal being moved in a package for a good SP, and one of Wong/Hernandez/La Stella signed in part to balance things out.
  14. Not trying to rain on the parade by the way- the account's info could very well be accurate, in fact in the case of Springer, it is. Just wanted to caution people to not make assumptions about its future validity and its role in the burner account sphere
  15. I agree with most of this. The one thing I’d add, with respect to your comment that the Hamburger had been tweeting for months and isn’t new, is that if someone has the time to run and consistently update 1-3 burner accounts, then it wouldn’t surprise me if he also has backup accounts that he occasionally updates if things go haywire with the others. I bet there are more out there right now even that we haven’t found
  16. I think they kind of gave this away with those Star Wars memes the other day. The hamburger account was liking them too, which is part of why I think they're all the same guy
  17. My 2 cents on this Portillo's guy: I definitely think it's notable that he got the Bummer deal a week before we knew about it. But think back to the Not Cishek account- people didn't start sharing his tweets for no reason. If memory serves, he got the Cishek deal (lol), he tweeted that Robert was close to signing an extension the day before he signed an extension, and he was first (even before James) on the Moncada extension talks. Could they have all been guesses? Sure. But I don't think the Portillo's guy deserves that much more benefit of the doubt. And I definitely don't think his word should be taken as gospel while people throw temper tantrums when a Cishek tweet is posted just because he was wrong at the trade deadline. All that being said, I believe Cishek, Portillo's, and Al's are all run by the same guy in an effort to save his credibility, and it's working, as everyone is loving the Portillo's account now. But, if he's ever wrong about anything, don't be surprised if there's a fourth account that also happens to like, retweet, and reply to the first three.
  18. Anyone have any luck getting a PS5 this week? Apparently my Target has a few that they're selling in-store tomorrow so I'm going for that
  19. I was wondering what that was about. He obviously was very emotional the whole time, understandably so, and was thinking about his grandmother and his journey. But I was confused about that apparent burst of anger

  21. I don't see it happening either but I think the idea is that Arenado is traded (Dodgers/Mets) and/or (likely "and") Story walks in FA after the season
  22. Chicago back to a stay at home order effective Monday
