  1. It was cool to watch LaVine distribute so much. His shot was off and he knew it, but instead of becoming a net negative like he normally would on such nights, he made great passes and even played some solid defense. These were the Bulls I thought we'd see last year. Not a real contender or anything, but perhaps in that 7-10 conference play-in range
  2. I know a lot of you dislike Hahn, but he can't be dumb enough to make a burner account with his own initials as the username
  3. I guess there can be multiple assistant GMs, but I thought that was Hahn's title ever since the TLR hire?
  4. And the Arenado stuff was some random MLB Intel pop-up account that was so off base that even the official White Sox account started trolling it
  5. Same. I think Richards has some intriguing upside, but he's the kind of guy you sign to be your ~#7 SP on the depth chart (in theory, obviously you'd start him in MLB if healthy) because he just has zero track record of staying healthy over the past 6 years. Quintana is much more limited but he's a much better fit for a roster that needs another innings eater.
  6. I wouldn't say Yates was bad in 2020, since he pitched just a few innings, and I've read on this board that the specific elbow surgery he is returning from has a very high rate of full recovery relative to TJS and other arm surgeries. I prefer Hendriks, but I don't think Yates is as risky as some presume
  7. I wouldn't be happy about this personally, especially once Darvish goes to the Twins and we have to face him 4x per year
  8. I'm really surprised that it was even 50/50 on the last question. I would've guessed 0 saying yes.
  9. Thank you. I have been far from thrilled with the Sox offseason, but I feel as though the Lynn conversations are often disingenuous. He is far from the same pitcher he was prior to 2019, and that's a good thing.
  10. None of what he says means anything anyway, because he made the same exact comments after his first DUI
  11. Not that it matters anymore, but this was one of Sanders' most discussed issues, so there was definitely at least one candidate talking about it
  12. It's pretty much what you assumed at the end there, but the entire logic behind it is just an extension of trickle-down/Reaganomics, which we know doesn't work
  13. Exactly, I think we have room to take on that risk. I also think 2020 was Rosenthal's first truly healthy year in awhile. I know you're right but I'm gonna pretend they have an actual plan for my own sanity
  14. Yeah, I don't get why the Robertson contract gets lumped in with LaRoche, Samardzija type acquisitions. Sure, we ended up trading him, but over the course of the contract, he pitched exactly as expected, if not better. Did the one game against the Royals just absolutely destroy fan perception?
  15. Have been advocating for Yates or Trevor Rosenthal. Problem is, given how (relatively) cheap those guys are compared to Hendriks, I'm not sure what else the team is gonna be spending on. Wondering if Hahn is regretting his "stay tuned" comment
  16. Good for him. He's a great fit for that roster
  17. And thankfully, Moncada is still #10. I was worried TLR would take it (he still doesn't have a number)
  18. Elected officials are actively trying to overturn the results of a certified election, and that's somehow the same thing as progressives saying we should rethink the electoral college? I hope that's not your point and I'm just misinterpreting, because I know you know better than to argue that
  19. I believe he has been told that some pitchers prefer throwing to McCann, but this assertion that the entire pitching staff is having all-out brawls in the clubhouse over not having to throw to Grandal just reads as some weird McCann fan-fiction
  20. I know it and I'm in my early 20s, so you should be alright Got it. It seemed to me like you were coming at it from a perspective of believing the owners much more than this post implies, but this is a fair take IMO. Thanks for reading it
  21. Huge news dump of upcoming Disney+ releases, but most notably (IMO), Hayden Christensen and Ewan McGregor are officially returning for an Obi-Wan Kenobi series. Very excited about that one
  22. Would be curious to know what you think about this article https://blogs.fangraphs.com/what-the-braves-can-tell-us-about-mlb-financial-losses-in-2020/
  23. No worries. Just not really sure where that leaves you, if you'd agree that Grandal is better offensively and McCann is the one who commits the interference errors. My opinion is that McCann calls better games, and is slightly better when it comes to avoiding bonehead errors like dropping pop-ups and whatnot (I say slightly because of the catcher's interferences and because he'll drop one every now and then himself, just not as frequently as Grandal). But I think Grandal is better offensively and is a better framer, which is why I think he's superior overall
  24. It's really bizarre. McCann certainly does some things better than Grandal, I don't think anyone would deny that. But claiming that "the data" shows he's better offensively, or that he doesn't register any catchers interference errors, is either just straight up lying for no reason or a complete inability to look at even the most basic of numbers
  25. A quick look at Baseball-Reference shows that McCann had 3 catchers interferences during the regular season and Grandal had 0. Every single argument you're making is either completely backwards or just your own opinion
