  1. Yes, his baserunning rating is heavily affecting his WAR, and no, he wasn't following the coach's signal, he ran through stop signs multiple times and was thrown out every time
  2. There's a pretty good chance this ends up happening (Twins 4 and Yankees 5), and I can't think of a worse matchup for the Twins
  3. Reynaldo Lopez might have to start a playoff game
  4. It really is ridiculous. Well over half of the comments are about that play, which had no impact on the final result. I'd get it if we won 2-1. And the rule is dumb, but the call was consistent with the rule. The Sox have been on the other end of that several times
  5. The Sox are the best offense in the league. We shouldn't be scared of good pitching, good pitching should be scared of us. And frankly, we've beaten the big names like Bieber (it was the bullpen that blew it) and Cole (2019, I believe Eloy took him deep in Houston and he took the loss)
  6. I'm not sure how these people catch this (when it isn't even true) and somehow miss McCann's 3 catchers' interferences in just 20 games caught (Grandal has 0), or McCann having twice as many errors as Grandal despite playing 63 fewer innings. I hate that this fanbase is making me want James McCann, a pretty solid player, to leave the team in FA so that these debates can end
  7. I'd be fine with this. If (big if) we sweep Detroit, we'd then be 2.5 games up on Cleveland and 3 games up on the Twins going into that 4 game series against them. At that point, you just try to split that series and keep that nice lead
  8. I know someone who would...
  9. Yeah I know how the odds work, I was just referring to my own estimation that 27 wins or better will be good enough for the 8th seed.
  10. I rarely say this, but I love the way Ricky has used McCann this season. He really has gotten the most out of him without overexposing him
  11. 99.9%. A playoff lock. We could literally go 0-17 and make it. This feels weird
  12. Eloy making a 5 star catch (per Statcast) and that awesome Moncada play in the 5th were really nice to see
  13. Yeah, the Sox are the #1 team in baseball in hitting sliders this year. Brubaker is actually an ideal matchup, IMO
  14. Yeah, I find it interesting that he's the primary scapegoat despite his two-run homer. Obviously he needed to catch that ball but it was just one of those games- Anderson got picked off, Madrigal got thrown out twice, Abreu made a dumb mistake, the list goes on. Not sure why Grandal is the only one getting a thread after it, especially when he has been playing so well lately
  15. I would simply keep the player who has been one of the best catchers and best hitters in baseball this year and for the last 5 years
  16. I think it'll be good enough to get us through the regular season and maybe, hopefully, a playoff run. But if we were at game 43 of a normal season, I would be really worried about the regression candidates too
