  1. Random but I didn't know we signed this guy. He looks like he could have some potential.
  2. QUOTE (flavum @ Dec 8, 2016 -> 08:18 AM) The Sox only have 29 players on their AAA roster. They could potentially take 8 guys in this phase... Are you including guys like Moncada, Giolito, Lopez, etc?
  3. QUOTE (WBWSF @ Dec 8, 2016 -> 08:13 AM) I see the 2017 White Sox team with one of the worse offenses in MLB. Runs are going to be scarce this year. If they trade Frazier + Abreu things will only get worse. The team has already made 2 trades neither of which has improved the team offensively for the 2017 season. The 2016 team scored 3 or less runs in half their games. Does anybody think it will be better in 2017? I certainly don't see the team signing any free agents like EE from Toronto. I wouldn't be surprised to see thee 2017 payroll half of what it was in 2016. I don't think anyone really cares about the 2017 offense because this team won't contend until 2019 at the earliest. 2017 should be viewed as a tanking year for Seth Beer.
  4. Since I started the Sale one too Eaton was only on the team for 3 years but man was it nice to have a solid, consistent bat in the leadoff spot with sneaky power, speed, high OBP, great defense and a ridiculous arm. He'll be missed.
  5. QUOTE (Deadpool @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 10:39 PM) The Cubs certainly think so. I think they could've easily won without him
  6. QUOTE (greg775 @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 09:31 PM) I'd get rid of Melky now but I doubt anybody wants him. Melky for two low level prospects if anybody will bite? The Giants desperately need someone for LF. I could see them having interest.
  7. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 08:51 PM) OK, one thing we should know as Sox fans is that there is zero chance of them bidding on top line free agents when we are going to be coming off of two completely terrible season. We don't do that coming off of good seasons. I don't know why this has taken traction, but look at the White Sox free agent history, and tell me why there is any answer other than no. Please tell me why, throughout the night, you've been nitpicking at the weakest replies to your nonsensical complaints, but ignoring the common response: the rebuild is not done. We will trade more assets for position players in the very near future.
  8. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 08:29 PM) We.Need.Postitional.Talent. There.Are.More.Trades.Coming.
  9. MLBN seems to think Abreu does have good value, regardless of what sabermetrics think. Abreu for Murphy and Tapia?
  10. QUOTE (miracleon35th @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 05:50 PM) Need position players including outfielders, Right now 2017 outfield is Melky/Shuck/Avi G. Why does the 2017 OF matter
  11. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 05:45 PM) I have said for months that if you went this direction you had to do it right, and build your position players. In the two biggest deals of the off season, they have probably came out even. It is a huge failure so far. For the 4th time, there are more trades to be executed. Be patient. Q to Houston for bats could happen very soon.
  12. QUOTE (Lemon_44 @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 05:41 PM) I wasn't thrilled with the return for Sale but this makes up for it. Great trade for a rebuild. My sentiments exactly. Sale trade was a 7/10 to me, this is a 10/10.
  13. QUOTE (SoCalSox @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 05:40 PM) Supposedly, the Sox & Astros are far along in a deal for Q according to MLB Network. Did anyone else hear that? I caught that too.
  14. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 05:34 PM) You've won me over. This really is the dumbest organization in baseball. Only the White Sox could lack position players, and then trade their best chips for pitching. We need to fire everyone up top and start over. Are you trolling? Are you aware of the fact that there are more trades to be made?
  15. Twins message board guy who is apparently well-respected and has a source says Dozier for De Leon/Bellinger is close
  16. QUOTE (Tony @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 04:38 PM) Let the process work itself out this entire off-season. You SHOULD judge each trade for what they are, but it's not totally in a vacuum either. Q now becomes the key here. Right, wait until January, or at least until Friday, to get mad about a lack of position players. More trades will occur.
  17. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 04:31 PM) One position player in, and Eaton out. I don't see the net gain here. QUOTE (Special K @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 04:35 PM) Agreed. We are set for pitching as one can be but utterly starving for position players, especially outfielders. But we just traded our best one who could've been part of the future. One thing I will say is that we sold as high we probably could've with Eaton... just wish it would've been for a position player headliner. Come on guys. Can't judge our overall team until all moves are done. I trust Rick. Quintana will be traded for bats.
  18. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 04:16 PM) Where is Frazier going to play, 1B? Yes
  19. Intentional talk guys "that would make sense if it were Quintana and Eaton, but just Eaton?"
