Arrieta is in a Braves uniform, what a day! Anyone looking to sell offensive juggernauts should hit me up. I have a particularly interesting 16 year old prospect to discuss.. JC -
QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Nov 18, 2016 -> 10:14 AM) Retro gaming stuff can go for insane amounts of money. People paying a few hundred dollars for rare NES cartridges, $100+ for Gamecube composite video cables, etc. Just nuts. I paid $99 for a used PS2.

Braves among teams showing interest in chris sale
Jose Abreu replied to Whisox05's topic in Pale Hose Talk
If the Braves won't offer Swanson, I doubt they can acquire Sale without a 3rd team. -

QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Nov 18, 2016 -> 09:55 AM) Mike, We won the World Series. We aren't giving Jake Arrieta a 7 year deal because of the contracts we are going to sign in the future. We have enough offense and I think we have the prospects to acquire another pitcher on the level of Arrieta with some of those pieces. And we just won the world series, and our fans will get over trading Jake Arrieta. How better to prove your point to Mike than by accepting Anderson and Newcomb for Arrieta and Underwood? JC -

QUOTE (steveno89 @ Nov 18, 2016 -> 09:32 AM) How would that make sense for the Braves John? Arrieta is a one year rental and you should be looking for assets under longer term control than one year with your rebuilding team -Rizzo We want to compete this year, and we've proven that with our Colon and Dickey signings, along with our heavy interest in Sale/Archer. We're all in. JC -

QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Nov 18, 2016 -> 09:24 AM) As Jed Hoyer: I'm looking for young cost-controlled starting pitching. I'm looking to trade Jake Arrieta. Make me some offers. Hi Jed, John Coppolella here. It's no secret that Arrieta only has one year of control left. Therefore, I'll give you Ian Anderson and Joey Wentz. -

Rumor: Dodgers & Sox discussing Sale & Frazier
Jose Abreu replied to DirtySox's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Nov 16, 2016 -> 03:12 PM) Who says no? White Sox get: Urias, Bellinger, Verdugo, Lux, Buehler, Barnes and Puig (as a throw in) Dodgers get: Sale, Frazier, and Robertson Lot of moving parts, but would be big for both teams. The fact that I like it so much tells me LAD would probably say no. -
Rumor: Reported Potential Red Sox package for Sale

QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Nov 16, 2016 -> 03:00 PM) That's why I posted it lol. People were running with it on twitter. My bad lol Nah, I would've posted it too. I just don't think the words "rumor" or "reported" should be in the title because they got me excited for mere speculation. -

QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Nov 16, 2016 -> 01:41 PM) Jesus this thread title is misleading still ^ I thought it was a legit rumor but it's just a writer speculating? -
QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Nov 15, 2016 -> 07:09 PM) I'll fall off the bandwagon and be left behind. I believe you still build around pieces like that if they are cost controlled. And how do you suggest we do that? We've been trying for years now. The market is bleak. Selling is the most logical step.

Braves among teams showing interest in chris sale
Jose Abreu replied to Whisox05's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (bmags @ Nov 15, 2016 -> 09:00 AM) I'm confused about Braves team makeup. Doesn't seem like they are on the cusp of contention that I expected for a trade like this. Glad they are involved but confused by this one. They want to compete in their new stadium. Just signed RA Dickey and Bartolo Colon- so they're pulling a White Sox. -

QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Nov 15, 2016 -> 07:11 AM) I agree. It's nice to have another team interested though I guarantee that every team is interested in Chris Sale- interest isn't the issue. One thing I find interesting is that Boston has not been mentioned by beat writers lately, but the Dodgers and Braves have. Could mean something, could mean nothing. -

QUOTE (Soxfest @ Nov 14, 2016 -> 07:13 PM) If Sale trade happens, I agree on Q. Then trade Abreu If we're trading Sale and Frazier to LAD, why not package Quintana and Abreu to Boston? -
Trea Turner, please! Giolito too
-
Urias, Verdugo, Bellinger, De Leon, Puig for Sale, Frazier or no deal. If they don't want to give Puig then that's fine, he's really a throw-in.
-
Per Dan Hayes Dan Hayes @CSNHayes 7m7 minutes ago Jose Abreu opted out of his guaranteed 3/$34 million deal w/ #WhiteSox and instead will go year by year in arb w/ them. Still Sox property.

QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Nov 14, 2016 -> 12:23 PM) I see where you're coming from. Nothing is guaranteed. Sale's arm could fall off tomorrow for all we know. All I'm saying is that they need to get a "can't miss" player as a part of the return (like a Benintendi or Bregman type), and I don't see anyone the Dodgers could offer that would fit that criteria. I'd argue that Urias fits into that Benintendi/Bregman mold

QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Nov 14, 2016 -> 12:17 PM) That's the thing, Tony. There's no way for me to trust the Sox talent evaluators to make the right decisions in regards to a return on a potential Sale trade. My absolute worst nightmare is for the Sox to trade the best pitcher in franchise history, a future hall of famer, for a bunch of guys that never pan out. My fear is that we pull the trigger on a big Sale trade, but do it for a half-prospect, half-MLB player type of bunch, further establishing our halfass buying pattern. You can't contend with Quintana/Rodon/Shields/Gonzalez/trade guy, but I fear our FO believes otherwise.

Sale and Frazier to LA would surprise me. I see that as a feasible proposal for Boston, but does LA really have the firepower to pull that off?
