  2. Gut feeling is Boston swoops in tomorrow morning
  3. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Dec 5, 2016 -> 09:40 PM) Urias is #1 pitching prospect in baseball. Fixed
  4. Bowden: The White Sox and Nationals are far down the road on a trade that will send Chris Sale to the Nationals in exchange for Lucas Giolito, Victor Robles and a low minor leaguer. Reynaldo Lopez and Koda Glover will not be in the proposed deal. The structure of the deal was first reported by Ken Rosenthal.
  5. If that's true, this is a depressing night. edit- Bowden's report

  7. QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 5, 2016 -> 09:23 PM) Rabbit alluded to this on twitter but what I most regret about it veering away from Red Sox were the devers/kopech/Rodriguez pieces that made it a strong deal up and down. Excited about severino/ etc but much less so. Severino really isn't a good prospect. Better than what we have, sure, but not exciting
  8. QUOTE (Ro Da Don @ Dec 5, 2016 -> 08:39 PM) This was from Rosenthal. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 5, 2016 -> 04:56 PM) Jayson Stark ‏@jaysonst 26s27 seconds ago Jayson Stark Retweeted Daryl Van Schouwen Surveyed several teams that are in on Sale this afternoon. They don't expect him to get moved at the meetings. The price hasn't dropped.
  9. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 5, 2016 -> 08:56 PM) To be fair, after the way the Nationals screwed the Sox at the deadline a few years ago, I don't think they feel bad using Rizzo. I forgot, how did they screw us
  10. What's the deal with Severino? I know he's 22 but his offensive numbers are pretty bad
  11. QUOTE (GreatScott82 @ Dec 5, 2016 -> 08:46 PM) Strikeouts are cool. But so are position players. Which are exactly what we cannot develop on our own. Therefore we need to trade for them
  12. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Dec 5, 2016 -> 08:42 PM) Also, without seeing entire offer, hard to say this would be settling. The headliners are strong and plausible with a system capable of a full trade with good depth, its why the Nats are a very good team to be working right now to both finalize a deal and spark a bidding war. But if we want Turner, we should be able to get him. Sale's value is too high for us to not be able to get our top target.
  13. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Dec 5, 2016 -> 08:38 PM) This is a leverage play. How so
  14. I don't get why we're settling. We should have the leverage.
  15. We better trade Quintana for more hitting after this
  16. Rosenthal bomb- Sources: Legitimate chance of Sale trade to #Nationals. Robles, Giolito would go to #WhiteSox. Teams haggling over final pieces in deal.
  17. Ton of Hahn quotes on Twitter. Says he won't compromise for Sale

  19. I don't get the benefits of the PS4 Pro over the regular PS4 other than 4K capabilities.
  20. Buster OlneyVerified account ‏@Buster_ESPN Total speculation:If the Chris Sale asking price drops, BOS will have most significant combination of motivation/prospects to finish a deal.
  21. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Dec 3, 2016 -> 08:26 PM) Has anyone been consistently right on their predictions this off-season? They weren't predictions, they were him claiming he had a source/inside information with an impeccable record. Don't know why anyone took him seriously, especially after the Obama posts.
  22. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 2, 2016 -> 09:42 AM) Looking from the outside in, the fact that they are talking about moving Adam Eaton to me is a clue that there might be some smoke to all of the clubhouse stuff. But they're not. The report just said that we're more likely to move him than Abreu. For all we know, it's extremely unlikely that we move either.
  23. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Dec 2, 2016 -> 09:23 AM) Although I do agree with the post that said his skill set might erode over time. A grinder type player like him relies on speed and athleticism, and those are skills that typically get worse at or over the age of 30. Who's to say he'll still be the same player when the Sox are good again. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Dec 2, 2016 -> 09:24 AM) Adam Eaton is my favorite player on the team. With that being said, he's a speed player and much of his value comes from his throwing arm and he's 28 years old. I think they will only trade him if they received an absolute haul in return but if that's the case I'd be fine with doing it. I'm not sure that Adam Eaton is going to be a 5-6 WAR player over the next few seasons. Even if he's a 3-4 WAR player though he's an incredible value. If he gets moved, I think we'll be pleased with the return because I can't see him moving otherwise. I don't think Eaton relies on speed that much. He's really just a good contact hitter with a great arm. Sure, his speed affects him on defense, but the marginal speed decrease that will come as he ages won't affect it that much. Even if he was some big base-stealer or speed guy, plenty of those guys still play well with age. Take Juan Pierre, for example.
