  1. QUOTE (Dunt @ Aug 26, 2015 -> 07:30 PM) He's already being comped to Randy Johnson regularly. Ya, I'd say he will be the best the Sox have had. Not only that, but his career numbers at this point are much better than Randy Johnson's were.
  2. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Aug 26, 2015 -> 06:00 PM) So Russell Wilson just went kind of crazy in belief of nanobubbles "This product really works! You should all buy it! I'm not just saying this because I'm an investor!"
  3. Sale is attempting to become the second pitcher to strike out 14+ in 3 straight starts (Pedro Martinez). Chris is the only reason I'll be watching tonight.
  4. Wow, that Thompson/Arenado connection is funny considering we've been discussing acquiring Nolan for weeks now.
  5. FWIW, B/R picked Sale to win AL Cy today due to FIP, xFIP, etc. ERA is really the only thing not in Sale's favor.
  6. Yeah, Walsh is really the only guy that comes close. Maybe Pierce. Most of our pitchers have been so overrated by us Sox fans... LaMarr Hoyt, Jack McDowell, Mark Buehrle, etc. are so much worse than SoxTalk posters seem to think. Don't get me wrong, they're good, but their stats really aren't great.
  7. Talent-wise yes. When his career is over, this probably will be an easy yes.
  8. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Aug 26, 2015 -> 04:06 PM) I think Q is closer to a number three. Rodon can be an ace. Don't trade him. It should be quite easy to get fair value for Q. They know exactly what his value is. He's been consistent. They either pay it or they don't. They may know what his value is, but it doesn't seem like you do.
  9. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Aug 26, 2015 -> 03:44 PM) Even if Thompson sucks against righties, the fact that he can hit lefties means he can still provide a lot of value to this team, considering that pretty much everyone else besides Soto is awful against LHP. I already like Thompson as the 4th OF going forward, and he should definitely be in the starting lineup versus lefties. If he can hit LHP at a decent clip and provide good defense, that's a very, very valuable guy off the bench. He still needs to at least be given the chance to hit righties this year.
  10. If anything, Saladino would stay at 3B, Sanchez to SS, and Micah to 2B.
  11. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 26, 2015 -> 03:32 PM) he played 3rd a fair amount when he was first in the Dominican Summer League for the Sox and a handful of games since then. I was looking at his baseball-reference minor league fielding stats, which state that he has played 6 games at 3B since the start of the 2011 season. He may have been a 3B in the past, but he isn't anymore.
  12. No Thompson in tonight's lineup. JFC, I don't care about the handedness of the opposing pitcher, Trayce is hitting like .530
  13. QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Aug 26, 2015 -> 03:28 PM) Well if the sox are high on him he needs to get playing time to see if he's the future second basemam. Sanchez is very good with the glove but if micah can be at least average defensively I still think he's the higher offensive of the 2. If ramirez wasn't on the team could move sanchez to 3rd and saladino to ss. Sanchez at 3rd? No way. He doesn't play 3rd, he plays 2B/SS.
  14. Thanks for all the responses!
  15. QUOTE (Lip Man 1 @ Aug 25, 2015 -> 10:26 PM) This kid needs to be playing every day. Move Garcia to DH and bench LaRoche for the rest of the season. Just my opinion. Mark If only Robin were smart. This makes too much sense
  16. QUOTE (AustinIllini @ Aug 25, 2015 -> 10:10 PM) The crazy thing is Schwarber, Bryant, or Rizzo would be the best players on our team. LMAO, that's simply ridiculous. Chris Sale says hi. And Abreu > Bryant/Schwarber at the moment, too.
  17. 12/23 = .522 Trayce Thompson's batting average
  18. It was a nice surprise to check my phone for the first time in an hour and see that we took the lead.
  19. OT- Cubs, IF/OF Emilio Bonifaco agree to deal
