  1. Hmm, I guess the sky isn't falling after all
  2. Where did he say this? On the radio?
  3. Very true, but it's getting hard to simply avoid the redundant, doom and gloom posts over and over because they're in every single thread. Which is why threads like this get created
  4. https://www.mlb.com/whitesox/prospects/stats/affiliates?date=07/29/2019 https://www.milb.com/scores/whitesox/2019-07-29
  5. Not happening without one of Kopech/Cease/Robert/Madrigal. So I'd rather we not get him
  6. The point is that there really aren't that many holes to fill. The only positions I am not confident about for the next ~5 years as of right now are RF, DH, and 2 SP. We have so much young talent and depth relative to past years that it really isn't half of the roster.
  7. This post presented some valid points and concerns (although I disagree that Fry should be a cautionary tale, as he's still good), but then you ended it with an outrageous claim. Do you truly think that Moncada and Anderson would be the 25th man on those teams?
  8. Great post, especially the last paragraph. It's hard for me to see this season as anything but a major success for the rebuild so far, as all the players who actually matter are performing well. For all the freaking out about the ebbs and flows of the season for the players you mentioned, it's interesting how Moncada has been a top-12 position player in baseball, a legitimate MVP-caliber player and the best all-around position player on the White Sox since either Magglio Ordonez or Frank Thomas, yet the only posts I see about him (for the most part) are complaints about the occasional misplay or minor injury. It's clear to me that incessant complaining about anything and everything is preferred for many, even when glaring positives are staring them right in the face. I'm not saying that everything is perfect, but I am saying that things aren't nearly as bad as people are making them out to be.
  9. Saints released Cam Meredith
  10. Anyone know why Eloy left the game after the 6th? No he was not ejected so I’m not sure why
  11. My guess is that it’s not serious interest and we’re just kicking the tires. The Mets make really weird trades so I like that we’re at least asking about it
  12. Buy low option but still has a lot of trade value. Maybe we’re just trying to take a bad contract for him or just fleece the Mets. Probably wishful thinking
  13. Ok... so in Jose Abreu's mind, there is no longer reason to be excited about the future of the rebuild because they lost a few games? Frame it any way you want, it still makes zero sense to me
  14. So the rebuild's doomed? No reason to be excited anymore because they lost a few games?
  15. What could have happened in the last week that would make him (or anybody) no longer excited about the team's future? Did I miss something?
  16. No, not really. How do you know he's unable to go long in games?
  17. The same guy said he wants to trade for Addison Russell in another thread so I think (hope) it's just a troll job
  18. It's not that he has a bunch of trade value, it's that Mazara doesn't. Unless you're just poking fun at people who wanted him DFA'd
  19. No, I do not think Jose Rondon will be back next year
  20. 9 K through 4 IP so far for Guzman, the 16 year old LHP

  22. Sorry to bump an old thread but I wanted to thank you guys for commenting about this. This morning I wrote about Bailey's season, and this discussion led me to the realization that Bailey's OBP is literally the best all-time in the Dominican Summer League. https://soxon35th.com/white-sox-prospect-benyamin-bailey-has-the-highest-on-base-percentage-in-dominican-summer-league-history/
  23. It's still trading 4.5 years of a high ceiling SP for 2.5 years of a talented but replacement level RF. Sure, Mazara is also high ceiling, but he has had far more opportunities to prove himself than Lopez. Simply due to the years of control, I wouldn't want to pull the trigger on that deal but I can at least understand why some would.
