  1. Not only that, but Abreu's 2014 season was MVP-caliber and I have no idea how anyone could argue that it's not also his best season overall
  2. If Luis Robert becomes Mike Trout, I don't think any of us will care about his service time
  3. Ha, I'm just not as active in game threads as I used to be and I'm assuming that's where your comments on Yolmer would be occurring. What I was more surprised by was the lack of threads about him in general. You wouldn't think that he has been an Engel-level hitter this year just by browsing the forum.
  4. Bumping this because I'm pretty surprised nobody complains about Yolmer. Out of 156 qualified MLB hitters, Yolmer ranks 149th in wRC+ and 152nd in wOBA. He has a .630 OPS but receives daily at-bats. In 2018 and 2019, Adam Engel posted a 68 wRC+. Yolmer Sanchez has a 73 wRC+. He has literally been an Engel-level of terrible but he plays every day. I get that Rondon has been bad too, but there are definitely solutions. Once Tim is back, Leury can play 2B with Cordell in CF and Jay in RF, for example. I'm just so tired of having a black hole in the lineup every day, and I know he won't be our starter for long thanks to Madrigal, but in the meantime, having to watch him bat every day is excruciating.
  5. He finished 13th in AL voting that year. He was good but I wouldn't call him an MVP candidate, so I don't think your point remains. Someone who finishes 4th in MVP voting is a candidate, not someone who never finishes better than 8th
  6. What? Yoenis Cespedes has never even finished top-8 in MVP voting. Puig has never finished better than top-15. Abreu has finished 4th. None of this really matters but the argument you're making is just not even close to being true.
  7. If Moncada is truly a .900 OPS guy (wow it feels so cool to type that) I want him batting 2nd. Where would you put him in your scenario, 3rd? Because there's also Eloy and Vaughn... I guess these are good problems to (hopefully) have
  8. Yeah that I agree with. Just was pleasantly surprised by the DFA.
  9. Nah, he's awful. His ERA has always been flukey. Last year he had a horrible walk rate. This year it's better but he's allowing far more home runs and hits. He just throws meatballs. Not having to watch him pitch anymore is almost as exciting to me as not having to watch Engel hit anymore
  10. Gavin Sheets since 5/30: .326/.394/.576 9 HR 43 RBI. 16 BB to 24 SO. .970 OPS, 179 wRC+
  11. I don't get this. They could easily promote Walker (if the rumors are true that he was supposed to be in AA by now). Rotate Walker, Rutherford, Gonzalez, and Basabe where one of them DHs every 4th game and the rest are in the OF. I couldn't care less about Joel Booker's playing time and neither should the org at this point.
  12. I posted it mostly in jest but I do think he's truly a special talent who may actually become a top 5 player in MLB.
  13. What's scary is that his defense might actually be the best facet of his game.
  14. Don't disrespect April and May of 2016 like that
  15. Nice to see that Robert has turned you. That may come off as a snipe or something but I mean it. Now if only Moncada can as well
  16. The Alen Hanson one... thanks for doing this it was fun to read
