Tried my best but there’s really no info out there about him outside of the reddit post- PTC Sunday June 23rd at 1:05 PM CDT Chicago at Texas
moncada- 6/22 Games
Vaughn will be better as a hitter than all of those guys sans Eloy, IMO- 6/22 Games
I've been attempting to do a write-up on Bailey but information on him is so scarce.- PTC Friday June 21st at 7:05 PM CDT Chicago at Texas
zack collins- Favorite under the radar prospects
Ha, when I saw the thread title I was gonna go with Benyamin Bailey. So instead I'll say Carlos Perez.- 2019 MiLB catch all thread
No idea why the Padres released a guy with a .996 OPS in AAA but I'll take him.- PTC Wednesday June 19th at 7:05 PM CDT Cubs and White Sox
eloy jimenez- Collins getting called up
Could be. Either way, I don’t see a scenario where Collins is glued to the bench. Barring injury or a major struggle, he probably doesn’t play in AAA again this year.- Collins getting called up
Merkin has said on Twitter that Collins is here to stay, and Hahn has said many times that when a prospect is called up, he'll be getting plenty of reps. If anything, I think Castillo has played his last game for the White Sox.- The best possible line up with the current roster
I agree that it's time for Eloy to be bumped up. I'd go 1. Anderson R 2. Moncada S 3. Jimenez R 4. Abreu R 5. McCann R 6. Leury S 7. DH (Alonso?) L 8. Sanchez S 9. TIlson/Cordell L/R- Does Ricky deserve manager of the year?
Absolutely, yes. If he doesn't win it unanimously, something's fishy. edit- this was sarcasm by the way- Nick Madrigal promoted to Birmingham
I'm guessing that part of the poster's point is that Robert's ceiling, if you want to talk best case scenarios, literally is a faster Mike Trout. Surrounded by what our core looks like it will be, that would definitely be a better supporting cast than what Trout himself has. I see where you're coming from though.- ASG Voting Update
Pretty much the same as mine, except I have Gallo instead of Meadows and Story instead of Iglesias. Nice picks though- Nick Madrigal promoted to Birmingham
He also averaged 83 walks per season. If Madrigal does that I don't think anyone will care about his home run totals- PTC Friday June 14th at7:10 PM CDT New York at Chicago
ANDERSON- Nick Madrigal promoted to Birmingham
Understood. Then I agree. He is above average as a runner, but his contact profile isn't special. That he always makes contact is what will fuel his BABIP, IMO. Hitting a bunch of ground balls to the right side, however, doesn't scream high BABIP to me.- Nick Madrigal promoted to Birmingham
I'm assuming a .300 BABIP, negligible HR rate, and negligible strikeout rate (1-6%?). I can see him anywhere between .285-.315.- 6/12 Games
To be honest, I don't think Vaughn will take much longer himself. I can see him being a Super 2, early-mid June guy.- Nick Madrigal promoted to Birmingham
I like Madrigal, but I wouldn't point out a .298 BABIP as if it means he has been unlucky. His contact profile doesn't suggest that he'll be anything more than an average BABIP guy. Of course, he'll still be a solid offensive player. Maybe .295/???/.400 with the juiced ball. Depends on what he decides to do when it comes to walks- A fair and balanced soliloquy about Jose Abreu, by ron
At this point, yes. I said earlier in the thread that there's probably not a fit for him on this team anymore past 2020. I just think he has been unlucky, and by the end of the season it will normalize somewhat. Just not to the point where he's 2014-2017 Abreu.- A fair and balanced soliloquy about Jose Abreu, by ron
I'd argue that it's also cherry picking, or at least disingenuous, to present his 2019 fWAR and wRC+ without accounting for the extremely low BABIP relative to his normal mark.- A fair and balanced soliloquy about Jose Abreu, by ron
He has a .267 BABIP and his career mark is .324, he's due for some positive regression. That said, he serves no purpose after the Vaughn pick and with Collins knocking on the door. It might make sense to keep him for one more year (since Vaughn probably won't be ready *that* soon), but after 2020 I think there's no longer a fit.- Sox vs Nats - 6/11/19 7:10pm
