  1. Probably, but I fear Vizquel will be even worse so I'm indifferent
  2. Rios was solid, but Moncada is also on pace to crush both of those marks this year. He’s on pace for ~5.3 fWAR
  3. Robert-Jimenez-Vaughn will be a pretty good 3-4-5. Surround them with Moncada and Collins and it'll be close enough to a LHH middle guy
  4. Ha, I get why he's there but that's really funny. He's literally a man amongst boys there.
  5. I wanted Harper more for off-field reasons but still think Machado would have been the better fit. You'd have him instead of Yolmer Sanchez, not Moncada. Plus I'm still confident in a long-term OF of Jimenez/Robert/one of Gonzalez/Basabe.
  6. Dietrich isn't just a one year wonder. I mean sure, this is the one year that he's playing at an MVP level. But he has always been a solid hitter. Even if he isn't the absolute monster he is right now, he at least has a track record of being a versatile player with decent offense
  7. You don’t think he’d cost Rutherford so you’d offer them a better prospect instead?
  8. He'd be an awesome fit. Plus the clubhouse would love him
  9. I also think Robert is way too good defensively to not be the CFer.
  10. It's a good thing that relief pitcher ERA doesn't matter.
  11. I don't know, but I do think that Renteria/Vizquel will gift him the 1/2 spot even if Robert/Moncada/Anderson are more deserving
  12. I just wish he would sell out a little bit. Raising his K% by even just 4-7% and compensating for it by adding points to his slugging would make him a much better prospect IMO. He generates so much weight transfer on his swing, the potential for it is definitely there.
  13. Ha, exactly. By that logic, Zack Collins is going to be one of the most disciplined hitters in MLB history over an illustrious career
  14. Thanks for sharing this. These are actual reasons to promote him, unlike "he doesn't strike out much so obviously he's ready"
  15. Between Beard and Robert, we might have the two fastest players in professional baseball now. Robert has timed as faster than Hamilton before too. We'll see what his statcast numbers look like once's he's up in MLB
  16. I'm definitely one of the few who still downloads music from iTunes on a regular basis so I'm unclear as to what this news means for me. I see "Music" will become its own app but am hoping that it is not exclusively for streaming
  17. I have Vaughn underslot (very slightly) because if we did not draft him, he likely would have gone at 5, not 4, therefore we have a bit of leverage. For Thompson, I'm banking on his rough spring leading to him agreeing to take less. Since his stock was trending downwards, not upwards, we have some leverage there too. I like both picks a lot though, even if they sign for closer to slot value than I project. And yes, by my count (and it's really hard to find accurate data on this), he's the 4th player of Indian descent to ever be drafted by a MLB team (the two guys you mentioned were technically international signings IIRC. Their movie wasn't half bad by the way). As an Indian fan, it's just really cool to see. I'll always be irrationally pulling for him to rise up through our system.
  18. After going 3-4 tonight, he's hitting .352 with a .972 OPS in AA. He's doing even better than Eloy by a significant margin now.
  19. Yeah I don't know what DJ was thinking. That pitch was low. Quality AB
  20. I do think that Gonzalez, the catcher from the 8th round, is at least a little intriguing. Patel also had great numbers this year, unlike some of the other senior sign pitchers, but there's not really any video of him
  21. The people expecting Keuchel to be good after not pitching against pro hitters for 10 months are bound to be disappointed. I would honestly rather stick with Dylan Covey.
