  1. Ha, my thoughts as well. But I like this hook. Off day tomorrow, Marshall/Bummer/Colome and others fully rested, just bullpen the rest of this one.
  2. It’s crazy how little people seem to be talking about this, especially relative to last year. He’s 24 and looks like a perennial all-star.
  3. I feel like they're basically the same person with the same opinions on everything so I'm curious to see if the podcast reflects that
  4. I agree with that until the last two sentences, but the walking issue plagues Leury as well. I don't want either of them leading off for the long-term, but I want Tim leading off now because he's a better hitter and because I want him getting the PAs. When Jay is back, I'm guessing they'll go with Jay 1st, Leury 6th-8th, which I guess I would be fine with. Jay really serves no purpose anymore but whatever
  5. Agreed. What makes you say that? (re: Anderson) I would've agreed with you last year but the quality of his PAs is awesome this year, way better than Leury's IMO.
  6. It's better but Anderson (.849) 7th with Garcia (.667) 1st is still really bad
  7. Velander I can see. Giolito has been better than Odorizzi though
  8. Me neither. I think it unfairly benefits the Red Sox/Yankees etc.
  9. Under the new format, all that matters is being top 3, since that's what gets you to the next round. Moncada is 8th for 3B, despite probably being the 4th best 3B in the AL and the 3rd best who is healthy. whitesox.com/vote
  10. From a value standpoint, if Beer is actually limited to just DH, I don't know if he's as untradeable as the raw numbers may suggest I don't want us to trade Abreu, if my username doesn't give that away, but the writing is on the wall. Vaughn is going to mash as a 1B and Collins/Burger/FA will probably end up DHing.
  11. Up to 2.2 fWAR, slashing .294/.348/.508/.856 with a 129 wRC+, and an xwOBA/wOBA ratio that suggests it's not a fluke. A small part of me misses arguing with people who thought he was a bust after one average season.
  12. We have a 3 man rotation right now, no matter how bad Lopez is, I think he’s staying put
  13. Renteria laughs at the idea of Dylan Cease being called up rather than using some bullpen days
  14. Still not a fan. Leury and his .681 OPS at leadoff while Tim rots in the 7 spot isn’t worthy of praise
  15. He's listed as starting for Charlotte tomorrow
  16. I love that McCann is calling for a slider-heavy game today. The Royals have seen Giolito so often, it's a great idea to mix things up.
  17. These seem to be getting a lot of praise but I think they're hideous. A weird cross between the Bengals and Michigan Wolverines
  18. Totally fine with Alonso being out for Rondon. But the order sucks, and this explanation makes it worse
