The TLR Manager Thread
Poppy: Agree, but forgetting how many outs there were is not hindsight. More a senior moment.

Tigers @ Sox
Yes, Duncan woke Tony up when he dozed off during games.

Theories as to why offense behind pitching so far?
But if you look at teams above and below the . 232 average, hot weather teams and cold weather teams are pretty split. For example, Red Sox and White Sox are 1 & 3 and both are colder cities than Arizona, Atlanta, Tampa and Toronto which are all below average. But Maybe teams that don't preach launch angle, if there are any, could skew the numbers. I think shifts and the move to nerdy baseball is the main cause

The Makings of a Juggernaut?
So basically all of our prospects are going to pan out...fine. I think realistically some of our prospects will be fine and some will fail. Others will be traded and we don't care what they do.

If Yermin hits over .400 this season, is he the MVP?
We scored 9 runs and had 16 hits. Can't fault TLR for the results.
-
That’s a Chicago Yermins Win!!!!
Let's hope we don't reach .500 for the rest of the season.

Texas @ Sox
Cease is listed on ESPN as starter

MLB Batting
Agree cold weather definitely affects hitting. But remember this is the lowest in history. I am sure there has been colder Aprils. I think the original record was .236 in 1967. I would guess that also occurred in April.

MLB Batting
I read yesterday that the average MLB batting average is .233. That is the lowest in history . I heard a Boston media person say there has been a lot of day games this year so far. I wonder if that has affected batting?

Sox @ Cleveland 4/21 postponed
I would also add that the under 30 generation will not sit through a 4 hour game. Maybe even under 50. Now the 70+ generation can watch for a few hours , take a nap and catch the 9th

Sox @ Cleveland 4/21 postponed
I don't agree on replay. It is long in every sport. I think it is worse in the NBA. They not only have to review the "issue" they also have to review the clock. Basketball and football also have more reviews based on last 2 minutes issues.

Sox @ Cleveland 4/21 postponed
I do too but this isn't necessarily just a Covid change. Several in national media are promoting this as another way to speed up games.

Madrigal.
Hopefully he puts a lot of extra work into his defensive play. The kid can hit and he can make himself a good defensive 2nd baseman. He does not seem to have great quickness so his technique and positional play are important. A team with numerous power hitters needs OBP guys to supplement run production.

Contract extension for Yermin?
Even worse, Yermin's ERA ballooned to 9 today.
-
4-19 GT: Sox @ Boston (10:10am)
He was pitching like it was 10:00am but the game was at 11:00am

Contract extension for Yermin?
Let's hope we don't lose our hottest hitter to dead-arm tomorrow

4-19 GT: Sox @ Boston (10:10am)
It was a perfect bunt but Madrigal gave it away by turning around too early. Eovaldi was off the mound before Madrigal left the box.
-
4-19 GT: Sox @ Boston (10:10am)
Madrigal had a good idea but he advertised it too early.

4-19 GT: Sox @ Boston (10:10am)
Wonder if 9 run rule can be used on 11:00 starts.

4-19 GT: Sox @ Boston (10:10am)
I figured the very early start just threw Gio off. But the Red Sox lineup was certainly not affected by it. Their pre-game meal must have been raw meat.

4-19 GT: Sox @ Boston (10:10am)
I think JD hit a fastball on to the freeway

4-19 GT: Sox @ Boston (10:10am)
TLR needs to pull Gio.

4/17 GT: Sox vs Sahx, 3:05 PM CST
Grandal's family had gotten tickets in advance for Friday and Sunday's games, so TLR figured Grandal should catch both.
