  1. Whose on 2nd?............. In fairness, the whole staff didn't know the rule. There was time after the 9th ended for someone to figure out or ask how the rule works. No one in the White Sox group in the press box realized there was a problem ? Hahn didn't know? A quick cell call to dugout could have helped. What does Shelley Duncan's job as the Analytics Coordinator entail. In hindsight, I bet the batboy knew the rule
  2. I could be wrong but didn't they have to do the double switch? You could not just run for Hendricks because he had to stay in the game to face 2 more batters. .
  3. Tony was counting on the throw in to center field.
  4. Hendricks hasn't been a base runner in 6 years. Time for a steal of home.
  5. Someone is going to hit a HR against the pen this inning
  6. Save some of that offense for tomorrow . Cease was dominating.
  7. But we don't know all the circumstances. Maybe he has been late before and TLR let it slide. Maybe Yermin's dog ate his alarm clock .
  8. Leury has had the game winning RBI the last 3 games he has started. If Tony hadn't screwed up and not started him Friday, we could have won that game too. Got to think he wins Player of The Month..................................
  9. Okay TLR was one of the two. Who the hell was the other one?
  10. I would have left Vaughn in once Robert got on base. I know the guy is a ground ball pitcher but Vaughn could tie the game in that spot. But Leury, Madrigal and TA all hit ground balls so it is fair to assume Vaughn would have also. Take the next 2
  11. What??? Leury knocked in 5 runs in the doubleheader including the game winner in each game. He should be a fixture in the lineup........................................................... till he cools off.
  12. I assume this is a doubleheader and not separate admissions. With a night doubleheader and blah weather, I guess each fan/group who attends each gets their own private grandstand section.
  13. Maybe that was Katz's call.
  14. No way. Bochy is retired and retired managers never come back. The guy is 66 years old. ........................................
  15. Poppy: Agree, but forgetting how many outs there were is not hindsight. More a senior moment.
  16. Yes, Duncan woke Tony up when he dozed off during games.
  17. But if you look at teams above and below the . 232 average, hot weather teams and cold weather teams are pretty split. For example, Red Sox and White Sox are 1 & 3 and both are colder cities than Arizona, Atlanta, Tampa and Toronto which are all below average. But Maybe teams that don't preach launch angle, if there are any, could skew the numbers. I think shifts and the move to nerdy baseball is the main cause
  18. So basically all of our prospects are going to pan out...fine. I think realistically some of our prospects will be fine and some will fail. Others will be traded and we don't care what they do.
  19. We scored 9 runs and had 16 hits. Can't fault TLR for the results.
  20. Let's hope we don't reach .500 for the rest of the season.
  21. Cease is listed on ESPN as starter

Agree cold weather definitely affects hitting. But remember this is the lowest in history. I am sure there has been colder Aprils. I think the original record was .236 in 1967. I would guess that also occurred in April.

I read yesterday that the average MLB batting average is .233. That is the lowest in history . I heard a Boston media person say there has been a lot of day games this year so far. I wonder if that has affected batting?
  24. I would also add that the under 30 generation will not sit through a 4 hour game. Maybe even under 50. Now the 70+ generation can watch for a few hours , take a nap and catch the 9th
  25. I don't agree on replay. It is long in every sport. I think it is worse in the NBA. They not only have to review the "issue" they also have to review the clock. Basketball and football also have more reviews based on last 2 minutes issues.
