  1. 11 runs on 16 hits is not a bad loss? Regardless of who is on the hill, it was a bad loss. Maybe the Sox need cooler weather..........................................
  2. I think the White Sox Park have loose rims at home , so the Sox should benefit when we get some home cooking this weekend............................................
  3. Mayer may not be a bum. He was hurt for a lot of his rookie season. He has won the starting 2nd base position this spring and had a very productive first game. Way too early to label him a bum. We shall see how he does this year
  4. I went to a wake this week for a man who passed away at 106. He was very active running his own store until he was 104 as was his wife who survived him. I hope Jerry doesn't last till 96 and Getz is still the GM at that point.

My problem with Hays is he is a pretty good LF when he is healthy. But he was not healthy "enough" in 2024 and 2025. We will see how he looks in 2026

Hays, 30, last year hit .266/.315/.453 with 15 home runs in 2025 and was one of Cincinnati’s best offensive players when healthy. However, multiple injuries limited him to 103 games in 2025. He also dealt with injuries in 2024 with the Baltimore Orioles and Philadelphia Phillies.
  7. Boston media has been pretty positive about getting Bregman for 3 years but now they have to find a replacement.
  8. Dodgers and Red Sox gave up on him but he is 30 so maybe a 1 Year deal would work. But a multi year would have to be a buy 1 get 1 free...................
  9. Hopefully, whoever gets taken as number i, is the start of our ascension from the ashes.
  10. I don't think they are losing on purpose but they want to have a payroll as low as possible. Unfortunately, that really means the losses will keep mounting up.
  11. Tonight's game had live streaming options with Fubo and ESPN+.
  12. I assume JR will be calling La Russa to see if he has a place in the organization next spring................................
  13. That may explain why you live in Arizona. Top 5 in attendance were Montreal-Detroit-Chicago-Tampa Bay and Florida. Notice only Canadian is Montreal in Top 5 which includes 2 Florida teams
  14. THEN LETTING THEM DO THEM! I would add with capital to "do" them. If the bottom line is first "corporate profit" the ideally that phrase does not mean anything
  15. SCCWS replied to bmags's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I would add that a rookie catcher should actually be giving extra time since the position requires a lot of effort on both offensive and defensive proficiency. For this season of 225 AB, he has shown very solid offensive number so far
  16. Another guy who seems perfect in his role is Romy Gonzalez. He has played in 86 of 150 games this season usually against lefty starters. He has been excellent at 2B as well as a decent 1B. He is batting .312 this year and .286 last season. I think injuries were a factor but he struggled from 2021-2023 with the White Sox but he has been a great roles player in Boston.
  17. He was an "ace" last year for the White Sox but was limited by innings pitched due to health concerns. This year he has a legit shot to be best starter in AL .He had a 3.58 ERA last year in 146 innings. He already has 178 innings this year with 2.67 ERA. Crochet was not in the Top 10 starters last year for Cy Young. .
  18. One thing to note is that Crochet is now a top of the rotation staring pitcher. That has helped make the Red Sox a contender which they were not the previous seasons. As a White Sox fan, I would not have felt, with his injury history, that he would arrive to that spot so quickly. Since Boston had plenty of prospects, they were able to not touch their top 3 prospects and still put a package that would interest the White Sox. So both teams got what they wanted but we will see if Crochet continues to be a #1 and if the White Sox end up with their prospects being valuable starters down the road.
  19. Yankees lost 3 out of 4 in NY against the Red Sox. Boston wins 6 of 7 on the road against New York and Baltimore then comes home and loses 2 out of 3 in Boston against the lowly Pirates. Blue Jays lose 2 of 3 at home against Brewers. AL East are all killing each other going down the stretch. Maybe the Tigers or Astros will eventually win the AL crown.
  20. Imagine if White Sox still had Crochet, Giolito and Rodon in the White Sox rotation instead of in Boston and New York.
  21. I saw the 4 game series in New York with Boston and Boston took 3 out of 4. Yankees should be able to at least give one game to White Sox this weekend especially with their poor defense and bullpen.
  22. He is a big guy( 230 lbs) playing SS. If he starts having back issues, SS is not a place for him and maybe move to a position with less physical stress like IB.
  23. Not just the White Sox and lack of fundamentals. Yankees had 4 errors and even a balk for a run in game the Red Sox on Thursday. Bad teams always seem to make bad plays in big games.
  24. One other note, I see a lot of Red Sox games and I would add that Crochet is also a big part of the Boston dugout. When he is not in the rotation, he is constantly in the top steps of dugout cheering on his team. He is very popular w the Red Sox.
  25. I think guys like Francona, Melvin and a few others make most of their lineup/game time decisions with some suggestions by the GM. Other GM's have more input and the manager goes with what the GM says.
