  1. Has it ever been explained why this team has experienced an epidemic of ground balls? Is this really Menechino’s philosophy?
  2. Not going all-in was/is the smartest thing the front office has done in a while
  3. Not sure (or care) how the $ would work out, but wouldn’t hate taking Wil Myers off the Padres hands if they are trying to salary dump him
  4. I think that If they are both hitting we would be more than happy with a LF/DH split of Eloy and Vaughn. Robert (when not dizzy) is more than good enough to cover up for a slight liability in LF, just need to avoid Eloy and Vaughn in the same OF at all costs. Find the ever elusive (to the Sox) LH RF that can hit and field we’ll be more than fine.
  5. Cease and Kopech are legit, that’s a great start. I still believe in Gio to at least be a solid #3. Lynn’s best days are for sure behind him, but hopefully he can at least be serviceable and eat innings. Robert, TA, Vaughn, are all legit…and there’s no reason to believe Abreu is going to slow down in the next 2 years at this point. No doubt Eloy and Yoan are disappointments and never going to live up to the potential…but I refuse to believe they are actually this bad. I do think they will bounce back to above average going forward. Yaz is a sunk cost, he’s washed and shouldn’t be used as more than a platoon C. Although expensive, the bullpen is actually pretty good when/if healthy. Fire Hahn and LaRussa and hire a GM from outside of the organization who hires a head coach from outside of the organization. Pretend like last off-season didn’t happen and go back to finding a LH hitting corner OF’er, 2B and quality starter and give it another run. Next trade deadline will be the breaking point on whether to tear it back down again or not.
  6. 7 innings 2 ER without a slider is a huge win for Kopech and the team. Unfortunately the offense doesn’t have a pulse and is going to potentially ruin a good hard fought battle for Kopech
  7. Mehh I’m not blaming Seby for Kopech not being able to throw a breaking pitch.
  8. The slider is awful…but keep throwing it. Just dumb all around. Zeby shouldn’t even call that pitch again
  9. Was that a pained look from Kopech as they went to break?
  10. Zeby, just stop calling the slider. It’s not helping
  11. Kopech consistently hanging sliders in the zone and our announcers commenting how great his stuff is…nice to see life on his fastball but he isn’t locating and doesn’t have any good consistent breaking pitches
  12. Sadly I’m not even sure firing the hitting coach will help at this point. Somehow this coaching staff has sucked any/all power this offense had out. Not sure how, but it’s actually impressive how bad this lineup has become
  13. Sox are making this guy look like prime Aroldis Chapman. So many 95 mph FB’s in the zone fouled off or missed late
  14. Yeah he’s almost lost all 12-6 movement on it, not sure how that happens in the middle of the season
  15. His fastball is 96-98 with movement and he’s insisting on throwing more sliders. They aren’t hitting it, stop falling in love with the breaking pitch
  16. Was only a matter of time…but good god was that crushed
  17. 5 K’s is embarrassing. This team is impossibly broken, it makes no sense to me
  18. I don’t think Yaz can be continued to be trotted out at DH. He’s quite literally useless in that role at this point. Let him platoon with Zeby, contract between damned. Pollack is a better hitter (sadly) and improves the defense a ton
  19. He def could have hustled more but that was a double all the way. That was hit hard and he was shaded towards center
