Trade Ideas/Rumors/Proposals Thread
Because he’s Jerry and $14M would tie the Sox record of highest paid SP salary for a year.

Trade Ideas/Rumors/Proposals Thread
I have a hard time seeing Jerry committing $14M to a 35 year old SP next year. And I’m a little afraid of the price for Wacha + $ kicked in. A patch in the boat for the next year and a 1/2 isn’t worth giving anything of value for.

Trade Ideas/Rumors/Proposals Thread
I still have no interest in trading prospects for a vet that doesn’t get us close to a WS this year. I think people are getting a bit carried away with the success so far this year. I’d much rather go after a young SP. for instance Andrew Painter. Phillies are likely about to send him back to AAA and their entire IF (minus 1B) is awful. A Gonzo for Painter trade is something I’d rather go after. Keep building into this young core

Trade Ideas/Rumors/Proposals Thread
Does he have a path to legit AB’s next season to be able to reestablish any value? He’s going to be behind at least Gonzo in the DH pecking order

Does Quero still have trade value? And would you trade him when Teel is back?

White Sox - Injury Tracker
In a perfect world it would be Beni, but that really doesn’t seem like it’s going to happen. I just have a hard time seeing Sam A, Peters, Montgomery, Pereira, Beni, and Grichuk all on the roster. Seems like overkill and doesn’t give much roster flexibility. I think Gonzalez is a more useful piece that can DH and backup all of the IF spots. C- Teel 1B- Mune 2B- Meidroth SS- Montgomery 3B- Vargas LF- Sam A CF- Peters RF- Montgomery DH- Gonzalez/Grichuk (L/R platoon) Bench- Romo, Pereira, Acuna

White Sox - Injury Tracker
The real question is who goes down/is gone when Mune is back? Is Gonzalez obvious? Or will they consider 1 of Beni, Acuna, or Grichuk? I think you’d have to at least see what a team is willing to give up for Grichuk? Doubt it would be much, but never know. Going to be a real OF crunch for Grichuk to get any playing time to warrant keeping him.

6/10 GT - White Sox vs. Braves (6:40pm CST)
Quero needs time in the minors to figure some things out. He’s lost up there. He should consider starting with not standing 4 feet away from the plate.

6/9 GT - White Sox vs. Braves (6:40 CST)
Love it for the kid Don’t love the broadcast. Shouldn’t do this on the series opener vs the best team in the league. Save this for a Royals series in August.

6/9 GT - White Sox vs. Braves (6:40 CST)
Sure doesn’t feel like it recently. Maybe from earlier on when they were using Taylor? I’m not even totally against it, but you have to have better arms. These lefties throwing low 90’s sinkers are going to keep putting the team in hole. Just doesn’t make any sense.

This whole opener thing isn’t going well. Maybe let’s not do it anymore?

To buy or sell...
I wonder what it would take to get Carmen Mlodzinski from Pittsburgh? They had a disagreement about him pitching out of the pen and he could certainly have a spot in our rotation. Only 27 and controlled through 2029.

6/7/2026 - Sox @ Phils, rubber match, 12:35 pm CDT - Gilbert/Sandlin v. Nola
Pitching has obviously been bad, but also a bunch of fundamental errors allowing base runners to advance
-
6/2/2026 - Sox @ Twins - 6:40 pm CDT Martin v. Prielipp
That bunt was certainly a choice

Twins at Sox 1:10 Memorial Day Battle for 2nd
And reality is that Martin is going to regress. At this point we might have to trade for multiple SP’s just to not kill every arm in the pen.

Rikuu Nishida gets the call! Kelenic gets the boot
The ghost of Lenyan Sosa is going to convert to C Meant Romo

Rikuu Nishida gets the call! Kelenic gets the boot
In this scenario I think the bigger question would be for Nashida. Gonzo is DH against RH and 2B once or so a week to spell Meidroth. Antonacci in LF play the hot hand in CF and RF with Hill/Peters/Hays/Pereira/Nashida C- Quero/Sosa (please come back Teel) 1B- Mune 2B- Meidroth/Gonzo 3B- Vargas SS- Montgomery LF- Antonacci/Nashida CF- Peters/Hill/Nashida RF- Pereira/Nashida/Hays DH- Gonzo/Hays

Rikuu Nishida gets the call! Kelenic gets the boot
I like it. Now do Benintendi and Grichuk Swapping Nashida, Hayes, Gonzo, and Pereira for Beni, Acuna, Kelenic, and Grichuk would be a breath of fresh air for the team.

Peyton Pallette likely to be returned to Sox
I get what you’re saying, and I honestly don’t think Peyton Pallettte is worthy of an on going discussion…BUT is it not possible that the Sox internal scouting was correct? I don’t think it should be considered a mistake to prefer to gamble on an arm you don’t know vs 1 the team has been developing and knows isn’t remotely consistent enough to be productive.

Peyton Pallette likely to be returned to Sox
I wasn’t really following him, but I do seem to remember a decent amount of Getz hate for making a stupid move to leave Pallette exposed.

Trade Proposals
Would a Gonzo for Jake Bennet trade make sense? Red Sox just acquired Bennett last year in somewhat strange prospect for prospect swap, but he’s 25 and still not in the big league rotation. Boston is also desperate for IF help specifically so a 1 for 1 swap of 2 guys that will get a deserved immediate call up to the majors for their new team makes some sense to me.

Trade Proposals
Don’t get wrong I’m not trying to run the guy out of town and I’m not saying he’s bad by any means…BUT if Meidroth can’t hit for any semblance of power the reality is he’s likely going to get replaced in the next couple of years. Without stealing bases, hitting for power, or being elite on D he’s kind of in no man’s land for a baseball player in 2026. Probably would be a future all-star in the 90’s though.
-
Trade Proposals
Not like he didn’t have pedigree though. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t think he has a ton of value or would be a “headline” type prospect in a big trade deadline deal. But I definitely think there would be a decent amount of teams interested, just the value is debatable

Trade Proposals
We’re in a weird spot with adding in my opinion. The odds of acquiring a good, young, cost controlled SP are very low, and I’m still not interested in trading any meaningful prospects for a “solid vet type”. We aren’t competing for a World Series. I don’t hate the idea of trading Gonzo (+?) for a young “failed”/struggling former top prospect SP though. No idea who that would be though

Sox now have a Big Three. Mura, Vargas and Colson.
Yeah I’ll wait for more than a 30 day sample size before I crown Vargas as a part of a “Big 3”. Hopefully the swing adjustments really have turned things around, but I’ll be cautiously optimistic for now
