Official 2025 Draft Day Thread
Not at all upset with the pick, Carlson is a top 10 worthy talent. Unfortunately it’s just hard to be optimistic about this franchise developing a raw hitter.

2025 MLB Draft
Bring the Chicago kid home and draft Summerhill. His hit tool is very good and if he fills out and gets stronger he has 20/20 potential as an above CF. Wont be mad with 1 of the HS SS’s, but just feel like Summerhill’s profile screams good major leaguer

Luis Robert trade thread: La Pantera stays.
Slump? To continue your use of a simile…calling what’s happening to Robert a slump is like calling Mount Everest a small hill. Jerry will be $35M in the hole paying Robert to break out of his 2 year “slump” if his option is picked up. I have a hard time believing that will be an option

Houser
Better hurry up before he turns back into a pumpkin…it’s been 5 starts, let’s not overreact. He’ll get moved for something because a team will always be looking for an arm to eat innings, but it will be for a nothing prospect or 2. No team is trading for Houser thinking he’ll be in their playoff rotation

Luis Robert trade thread: La Pantera stays.
At this point you’re on the same level as a flat earther…how much evidence do you need to see before you accept reality? It’s over for Robert

Luis Robert trade thread: La Pantera stays.
There was a slight glimmer of hope for a couple of weeks there…and now it’s total gloom and doom again. Starting to feel like a miracle will need to happen to get anything of value for Robert at this point.

Luis Robert trade thread: La Pantera stays.
I still think the Phillies will get involved if Robert continues to hit, their need for a CF with power is almost too obvious. Don’t know if Miller or Crawford will be on the table at this point, and the Phillies don’t have a ton of other hitting prospects, but I’m sure something could be worked out.

Colson Montgomery to AZ Complex
Not going to pretend to know what Colson has/hasn’t done, but what about ALL of 2024 too? The problem is that he just refuses to listen to the Sox great hitting development? How about TA, Moncada, Eloy, Robert, Vaughn, and literally anyone that swings a baseball bat that comes into the organization?

Colson Montgomery to AZ Complex
There needs to be a documentary done about how the Sox ruined so much talent. Is there something in the water? Did the MonStars land and take everyone’s talent? Questions need to be answered

Yeah the hats are nice The actual uniforms look like a bad pajama set from the 90’s.

Draft pools announced, Sox @ $12.1 mil
The entire MLB draft process needs to be burned to the ground and redone. They’ve somehow made it more difficult for bad teams to get better under the guise of “you need to spend more $” while there’s 0 teeth behind it to enforce anything. Scum bag owners like Jerry simply say “No Thanks” and nothing happens other than the fans continue to suffer

April 24 Gamethread Sox @ Twins 12:10
Luis Robert is officially, and very firmly, in the Moncada, TA, and Eloy category. All hope is lost.

Andrew Vaughn is Officially a Bust
I’ve tried to defend Vaughn in the past…but yeah it’s over. Cut ties and move on. It’s bad for all parties to continue to put him out there everyday at this point.

Luis Robert trade thread: La Pantera stays.
His best/only full season was a year he had a .315 OBP. He is/was always an extremely flawed free swinging hitter. The league adjusted and it’s painfully obvious he’s not capable of counter adjusting and will continue to flail at pitches out of the zone. And cool, he’s athletic and a good fielder…when he’s not missing 50+ games a year with nagging injuries. Luis Robert Jr is on his way to a Kevin Pillar type career. The sooner you accept that the less it will hurt.

Luis Robert trade thread: La Pantera stays.
I see most are still delusional about Robert? There’s a better chance he gets released at the end of the year than traded for any meaningful prospects. How long of a stretch do you need to see of a guy not being good at hitting a baseball before reality sets in? Are we also waiting on the turn around for TA, Eloy, and Yoan? Or is Robert special for some weird reason?

How do you rank Chris Getz' GM tenure so far?
I advocated to take the gamble and wait on a Cease trade for a better return. Obviously we’ll never know how well Cease would have pitched for the Sox, but also hard to defend the Cease return…even without the Thorpe injury. But other than that? No idea what he is expected to do. I don’t believe he has a bigger budget at his disposal and just doesn’t want to use it. In a full rebuild you pretty just have to cross your fingers and hope. The real test will be if/when the young guys develop and it’s time to add the finishing pieces….if Getz is around for that (hopefully the team is sold and a new GM is brought in) Overall a “C, for now” seems about right.

Off-Season Pass the Time Catch-All
Getz should take a shot on Buddy Kennedy. No idea what the Phillies want back, but he’s out of options and not making their roster.

Sox Claim P Mike Vasil
At some point in the future I’d love to get to see a list of “This guy played in the majors??”, just from this 2-4 year stretch of Sox ineptitude (who knows, it also may never end)

The next round of cuts
I think it’s fair to say they just don’t consider Colas

White Sox projected lineup announced MLB.com
- Sox Claim Brandon Eisert, Designate Steven Wilson, Wilson clears waivers
Apparently the plan is to pick up every below average lefty and see what sticks. Most likely none- Amaya. He gone. UPDATE: He back.
I guess Getz had a plan for SS that didn’t work out and now needs to double back? Don’t get me wrong, it’s an extremely low % chance, but I’d rather bet on DeLoach being useful than Amaya. Maybe Colas will actually get a chance at RF/DH now though - Sox Claim Brandon Eisert, Designate Steven Wilson, Wilson clears waivers
