Do you think the Sox should really be buying?
Obviously if the right deal is on the table to improve the team now and in the future with a controllable player Getz should do that. But for the most part I don’t want him being aggressive with dealing any of our top prospects. We’re only like 75% done this rebuild, don’t rush it just because some are getting overexcited with our unexpected early success. I think this team is 3/4 key players away from being true WS contenders. Just stabilize the pitching staff enough to give the kids a legit shot to get experience in the playoffs would be the route I’d go. A rental SP and RP without giving up any top prospects.

I think Hancock will have a good bit more value, but I was thinking something like this as well. Throw in Pereira and probably 1 of Adams/McDougal. Successful prearb SP’s don’t exactly hit the trade market often, I imagine the Mariners will have plenty of offers. I think it would make total sense for the future of the Sox given the MIF talent we have coming up and Hancock’s cheap controllable contract.

To each their own…but completely disagree. I’d be more worried about just stabilizing the staff and not throwing out a SP that hurts the team every 5th day. I’ve got bad news for you if you think this team is acquiring someone that makes them a real contender. I think it’s important to reinforce the team enough to get to the playoffs to get the kids some experience, but making a big move to try and rush the WS window would be pretty dumb imo.

Stephenson and Singer makes a ton of sense from Cinci. Should be able to fill 2 holes without giving up a top prospect. Maybe something like Adams, Mogollon/Bergolla and Lacombe/Larson? And then just get a cheap serviceable rental RP

Wonder what the price of Trevor Rogers and Rico Garcia would be from Baltimore? Both are rentals that shouldn’t cost a ton and would fill roles nicely for us

7/19/2026 - Sox @ Jays 11:15 CDT - Burke v. Yesavage
Makes sense. He looks fine, sure if there was any kind of issue the training staff would have been around him.

Didn’t like the body langue from Burke before that hit. Looked like something was bothering him

Official 2026 MLB Draft Thread - Picks & Discussion
Volchko‘s funky delivery screams future reliever to me…but we’ll see. The arm is worth a shot on for sure

No problem with the Prosek pick. To play high potential high school pick that was ranked higher than 41. Hopefully see a few of college arms in rounds 3-6

Reddemann at 41 would be a nice consolation. Get Roch his college buddy

Chance to go back to the well of big power lefty…Hunter Dietz is for sure interesting Liam Peterson is another college arm I wouldn’t mind 1 bit

White Sox win draft lottery, will pick #1 in 2026
Would have no problem with him either.

I know prep is the expected way to go, but I really want Jack Radel if he makes it to 34.

Gonzo & Eisert Traded to Pirates for Comp Pick and Jaden Woods
No denying there’s a chance this ends up looking real bad in a few years, but I do think it makes sense from an organizational standpoint. There’s just no room in the IF for Gonzalez to play and thinking his bat will be enough as a full time 1B/DH is probably a stretch. I just hope this trade isn’t specifically to acquire Thome as some are speculating. That screams the organization hasn’t turned the corner from Jerry’s same old ways as much as I hoped

After the recent play, is the smart move to sell instead of buy?
I get why it’s not popular, but I have no problem trading Grichuk honestly. We have enough young hitters that need AB’s that I don’t think it would leave a huge void, and Grichuk won’t be here next year anyway. Makes total sense to cash in if a team is willing to give up something interesting…obviously don’t trade him just to trade him though. Newcomb would actually leave a huge void if dealt so not moving him. And I don’t think any of the other vet bullpen arms will get you anything interesting enough to warrant weakening an already weak unit. Basically I’d just dangle Grichuk to see what the offers are. And we could sell Grichuk and still buy pitching…

7/5 GT - White Sox @ Guardians (1:00pm CST)
Not the best representation for a national stream... Hopefully just waking up from the delay and can figure out how to not give away free bases and outs going forward

Because he’s Jerry and $14M would tie the Sox record of highest paid SP salary for a year.
-
Trade Ideas/Rumors/Proposals Thread
I have a hard time seeing Jerry committing $14M to a 35 year old SP next year. And I’m a little afraid of the price for Wacha + $ kicked in. A patch in the boat for the next year and a 1/2 isn’t worth giving anything of value for.

Trade Ideas/Rumors/Proposals Thread
I still have no interest in trading prospects for a vet that doesn’t get us close to a WS this year. I think people are getting a bit carried away with the success so far this year. I’d much rather go after a young SP. for instance Andrew Painter. Phillies are likely about to send him back to AAA and their entire IF (minus 1B) is awful. A Gonzo for Painter trade is something I’d rather go after. Keep building into this young core

Does he have a path to legit AB’s next season to be able to reestablish any value? He’s going to be behind at least Gonzo in the DH pecking order

Does Quero still have trade value? And would you trade him when Teel is back?

White Sox - Injury Tracker
In a perfect world it would be Beni, but that really doesn’t seem like it’s going to happen. I just have a hard time seeing Sam A, Peters, Montgomery, Pereira, Beni, and Grichuk all on the roster. Seems like overkill and doesn’t give much roster flexibility. I think Gonzalez is a more useful piece that can DH and backup all of the IF spots. C- Teel 1B- Mune 2B- Meidroth SS- Montgomery 3B- Vargas LF- Sam A CF- Peters RF- Montgomery DH- Gonzalez/Grichuk (L/R platoon) Bench- Romo, Pereira, Acuna

White Sox - Injury Tracker
The real question is who goes down/is gone when Mune is back? Is Gonzalez obvious? Or will they consider 1 of Beni, Acuna, or Grichuk? I think you’d have to at least see what a team is willing to give up for Grichuk? Doubt it would be much, but never know. Going to be a real OF crunch for Grichuk to get any playing time to warrant keeping him.

6/10 GT - White Sox vs. Braves (6:40pm CST)
Quero needs time in the minors to figure some things out. He’s lost up there. He should consider starting with not standing 4 feet away from the plate.
