  1. No idea why Soto would even consider locking himself into a 15 year deal at the age of 23. He will have generational wealth with a 6/7 year deal and then potentially hit the open market again at 30. With the way salaries are continuously going up I wouldn’t want to be locking in my salary for a decade +.
  2. I’m not sure how misplaying a ball = “dogging” it. I don’t think effort has been Robert’s issue in CF
  3. Not to mention the fact that those guys just may not have been interested in signing for the long man/spot starter position we had to offer in the off-season. Opportunity is the most important thing for guys like that looking to salvage their careers.
  4. I wouldn’t have argued against the signing, obviously Schwarber would help a ton. Although, Eloy and Schwarber as the corner Of’ers would definitely cost us some games too… I also think it’s fair to question whether Hahn had the capability to hand out a $79M contract this off season.
  5. To play where? Don’t see how Abreu, Schwarber and Vaughn play together. So take up a huge chunk of salary to block Vaughn?
  6. While I don’t want to make excuses for Hahn as I do think he has done a poor job post rebuild…but can someone point to the available free agents they would have signed that are looking good right now? You can point to a maybe 2/3 I think, but there are also more than a few guys this board (myself included) were clamoring for that would look like awful signings we’d be killing Hahn for.
  7. Difficult to feel bad for him, but Yoan is getting some brutal strike calls on him
  8. If only we could see this Kelly consistently…hopefully he works himself into a grove: clearly the stuff hasn’t gone away
  9. Not good when I’d much rather see Matt Foster in the game…
  10. Just me, or does it look like Polanco just did a line of coke or something? His eyes are too wide open at all times
  11. The White Sox have the worst collection of incredible athletes ever…that sentence shouldn’t make sense, but somehow it does.
  12. Is it crazy to consider an opener for Kopech? The thought would probably break Tony’s old mind so not going to happen, but Kopech consistently struggles in the 1st.
  13. I think that ball had some serious velocity and top spin to it. Obviously you want a major leaguer to knock it down, but tough play
  14. A bit for sure. Has the same type of short arm motion and a good changeup that makes it even more deceptive
  15. If we do go college arm I like Justin Campbell. Big tall kid at 6’7 with a deceptive arm motion. Stuff isn’t jaw dropping but the changeup is a very nice pitch already. Curve could use some work, but it’s not bad. Probably need to cleanup the weird glove dip he does in his windup but everything else about his delivery is clean.
  16. Haven’t read through this whole thread…who are some of the players the white Sox are linked to? With my very limited scouting I don’t hate taking Sterlin Thompson. Not a sexy pick, but he has a relatively high floor to be a good hitting RF in my opinion. Has a good approach using all fields and a sweet lefty stroke. In theory, with his frame, more power seems like it should come
  17. I’ll take a walk over 6-4. Can’t just pipe 92 down the middle and hope for the best. It clearly even baffled Zeby since it took a visit to see if he seriously wanted throw another fastball
  18. Worked out….but why in the world was Cueto insisting on throwing fastball?
  19. Don’t know what the statcast says but not sure it’s possible to hit a baseball harder
  20. I wonder if this lineups up with Colas being seemingly unhappy with the Sox a week or so ago? And his promotion…even tho he obviously deserved it via his play
  21. Let someone hit a tailing 100+ mph baseball at you…if you’re even able to get yourself off of your couch
