I like Lawrie and his potential still. If he hits .270 with 18-20 HRs that'll work right? I like Sanchez but he doesn't have enough power for me because we're already lacking power. I know we've hit 47 HRs this spring but last year really lacked it in the lineup.

QUOTE (ChiSoxJon @ Mar 30, 2016 -> 08:02 AM) Not sure, but his lack of production and health really worry me I've been following him since he signed. Is he going to Kannapolis this season? Or is he too young still? Trey M. is the player I follow the most even though Rondon was my guy a couple years ago.

My bold prediction: Matt Davidson hits .280 with 25 HRs before called up due to a struggling Avi. Davidson IIRC had more RBIs than Ks this spring.

Bears had a very underrated offseason. I know most of y'all are Bears fans. I liked it. Good job by the front office and we'll see how they draft. Question: Will Jeffrey get a long term deal by the deadline? I'm very happy with my Chiefs offseason. Sucks to lose Sean Smith but we have some options at corner and now my man crush Marcus Peters can step into the number one spot. We added perhaps the best RT in the game in Mitchell Schwartz. Can't believe how stupid the Browns are. LOL

QUOTE (raBBit @ Mar 29, 2016 -> 11:20 AM) The MLB doesn't test for pot. The MiLB does. If the Astros signed him to an MLB deal and in turn, added him to the 40 man roster, he wouldn't be subject to any marijuana-related penalties. That seems odd doesn't it? I never knew that tidbit. I guess I'm just used to not even thinking about it with MLB players, so I never knew that testing system.

Penguins are on a roll. Been waiting all year for it. 35-0 when leading after the second period. Also crazy to think for the first time in 46 years, there will be no Canadian teams in the playoffs.

QUOTE (AustinIllini @ Mar 29, 2016 -> 07:22 PM) And yet no closer to a championship. This. Thibs couldn't figure out how to best Lebron in a series. Even as battered as the Cavs were last year. His inability to adapt in the playoffs was a big negative. With that said, I miss him lol. This is a s*** show right now.

QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Mar 29, 2016 -> 08:22 PM) True but this is all about aesthetics right now. The Bulls look like a clown show. And it starts with the front office. It needs cleaned out but won't be. Yuck.

I couldn't get into Bulls basketball this season. Wasn't happy with the Hoidberg hire. Butler is my favorite player and I can't wait til Rose leaves whenever that may be. Didn't think I'd miss Thibs as much as I do.

QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Mar 28, 2016 -> 06:06 PM) On the whole I actually thought ND played fairly well. NC is just that much better. Maybe back to back elite eights will help ND close the talent gap. ND played well but I felt like once they started missing some shots, UNC would pull away and they did. Props to ND on a great game.

QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Mar 27, 2016 -> 09:16 PM) I'm sorry, that was an absolutely ridiculous technical call in a game like this. I agree but it's college and you could see it coming with some of the calls throughout the tourney. The hanging on the rim in the one game. The travel call flustered Brice I thought.

Go Heels Go!! I'm psyched for this final four. Haven't had to run through a gauntlet but they've handled who they've played fairly well. Saltiest fan base right now? Kansas lol. My bracket wasn't great but I had Arkansas Little Rock in that upset, I have UNC over Oklahoma 86-82 in the title game.

QUOTE (scs787 @ Mar 29, 2016 -> 10:56 PM) I've never really understood the Hawk hate. I absolutely prefer a guy who is a "Homer" and is cheering along with me. I'Il get yelled at for this, but give me Hawk all day over Vin Scully who everyone loves. Maybe I just don't hear Scully enough, but whenever I do get the chance, it's always so bland and zzzzzzz. Also, Mike, are you the dude on Pride and Passion who always "Feels drunk?" This is how I feel except I love Scully. Baseball is a unique historic sport and I love the older announcers and the history of the game. It's a treat to listen to a guy who does it by himself. He's really good at what he does. Listen to him some more and get back to me with more thoughts. As for Hawk, I've always said I like my announcers to have a little homer in them because they're my teams announcers. However, he's full blown homer now and way off base with his ideas at times. I'm eager to listen to Stine and Bennetti (pardon my spelling if it's wrong). Just my two cents here.

I'm quietly excited for this pen's potential, especially if they play well and we can add another power arm in August at the deadline. I'm starting to get hyped for this season although I'm trying to temper my expectations. This team is solid on paper.

Didn't remember that it was a four game series. Hopefully this offense stays healthy against Oakland. I like this opening day because it's a different team other than Cleveland, and KC. Will suck having to wait ALL day for this lol.

Fangraphs:Positional Power Rankings Series

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Mar 29, 2016 -> 06:32 PM) And both have room to grow. Absolutely. Have some great options. I hope Jones is nasty and locks down 8th inning. I like all of our pen options even Jennings who had one bad inning bloat his numbers. -
My trade target is Reddick. That's the guy I want and hope the As trade him. We also have a history with Oakland as a trade partner.

I seen the lineup and thought this is about it. I had about that same lineup on MLB the show. Rollins in the 2 hole and Melky 5 because of his switch hitting ability.

QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Mar 29, 2016 -> 12:55 PM) If he can't f***ing handle a demotion how in the hell is he going to handle hitting 180/220/350 in May and playing 1-2 times a week? The whole "oh you can't crush his confidence again" is a red herring. If he's that weak mentally he's not cut out for the Show, one way or the other. he should continue to work on his swing in AAA. He needs to prove something in real games not just against spring training guys that don't care if some failed prospect hits a HR off them. That's what worries me and why I was bringing it up. Personally with a DH spot open I would've brought him up and let him DH but I forgot about Avi and he'll get first crack.

QUOTE (flavum @ Mar 29, 2016 -> 09:21 AM) I'm hopeful for this season, but when Melky is your #5, it's very meh for me. That's what happens when ya can't land the big fish.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Mar 29, 2016 -> 06:52 AM) I don't think the Astros will trade Correa. Flashbacks to Astros in NL? Lol

I'm getting my wisdom teeth out tomorrow morning so I'd like to have my own thread to read some of y'alls predictions for this season because I'll be bored lol. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Mar 25, 2016 -> 02:12 PM) Well there ya go. Let's hope we actually have some guys live up to their projections for once. If that happens this team is fighting for a wild card.

QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Mar 28, 2016 -> 08:57 PM) Dude, if Davidson is the headcase you make him out to be, then he's all but doomed when he finally gets an opportunity at the major league level and struggles. The guy has to put together a successful couple months in the International League before I consider for an everyday role with the Sox. Furthermore, we already have a guy in Avi Garcia who has shown some ability to hit major league pitching. No doubt we should add a left-handed bat to at least split playing time with him if not serve as his platoon partner. But if we can't land said player before opening day, then I'm going with the guy at DH who has put up 90+ wRC+ at the major league level vs. the guy coming off two seasons with 30% K rates in AAA. This overreacting to spring numbers has gotten out of control. I'm not trying to make him out to be that's just what I'm wondering because of what he said.

QUOTE (raBBit @ Mar 28, 2016 -> 08:14 PM) Ironically just saw this part of the movie while I was channel scanning at the hotel the other day. Not doing the "NANANANA" but just started coughing and plugging my ears so some guys wouldn't ruin a day of exclusion on my way home. Lol I watch that movie every year around opening day. It's a gem.
