  1. Upton would frustrate fans way more. Strikeout streaky power hitter.
  2. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Dec 22, 2015 -> 03:52 PM) Defense/advanced stats aside, Melky still put up .273/12/77. It's not like he has zero value. Oh I'm about keeping Melky. He has value for us. I'd like him to be DH though.
  3. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Dec 22, 2015 -> 03:36 PM) And his lack of power He has power and also plays in Kauffman.
  4. Gordon makes perfect sense. Royals fans would be so pissed off.
  5. QUOTE (Baron @ Dec 22, 2015 -> 03:12 PM) Jackson's minimal help right now Would help defensively. Get rid of LaRoche and move Melky to DH. Just a thought
  6. Sign Austin Jackson too and move Eaton to right?
  7. I'd be good with: Eaton Gordon Abreu Frazier Melky Lawrie LaRoche Navila Saladino If we move LaRoche so be it.
  8. Seems to be heating up. I like it. Hope we get one of these guys soon.
  9. I expect these guys to sign by Thursday. We'll see if that happens
  10. The one that could help if we signed Gordon, is he'd bring a championship attitude. Could be good for this team sort of like when the Royals traded for Shields and Davis. That brought them a winning attitude and atmosphere to KC.
  11. QUOTE (raBBit @ Dec 21, 2015 -> 03:57 PM) Did you hear about the offer to Tanaka? Exactly. I don't know why people say were unwilling to do it. A lot of us followed the Tanaka saga closely. I don't know what they're offer was but I'm sure it was at least $100 million. I don't know what sharks offer was but I'm sure it was at least $80 million right?
  12. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Dec 21, 2015 -> 01:47 PM) We don't need someone to "strike fear". Gordon brings tremendous defense, decent hitting, and comes from a winning background. That's what we need. And I agree with that too. I just would like to have a guy like Cespedes behind Abreu. I do love Gordon's defense and clutch hitting at times is a plus.
  13. Gordon was just fine for them in the playoffs. He's healthy I'm not too worried about that. My concern is he isn't going to strike fear like a Cespedes does. I won't crush the signing.
  14. I seen that Twitter update couple days ago but didn't think much of it. I'd be stunned if he left KC for CWS unless we offered way more money.
  15. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 19, 2015 -> 05:28 PM) If they sign Upton or Cespedes, there is zero chance they sign Austin Jackson. Austin Jackson makes some sense if they go cheaper. He probably is a lot like Trayce Thompson defensively. His hitting is a question but he has had some good seasons. He hit well at USCF last year with the Mariners, and then was soon traded. If we moved LaRoche I wouldn't mind signing Cespedes and Jackson. Improve the defense in the outfield: Eaton Jackson Cespedes
  16. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Dec 19, 2015 -> 05:22 PM) Trading Avi for some pitching? No because he has no value. Keep him one more year.
  17. Wow wonder where Philips wants to go if anywhere other than Cincy.
  18. With Danks and LaRoche coming off the books next off-season, I think that gives Hahn and KW reason to get JR to spend now on a bat.
  19. I was just putting out what I heard on the radio today and he even has an article on Cespedes to Chicago. Well see.
  20. FWIW Levine has been really talking up Cespedes for the White Sox.
  21. I fully expect this to drag on into January. This benefits us because the prices will come down. I think we can land one confidently now adding Lawrie and Frazier.
  22. Love me some cargo but I don't know how we match up.
  23. Was hoping we'd sign him. Damn Beane will rebuild his value and move him.
