  1. Nice well pitched win but we’re not going to win many games like this, the Sox need to start hitting, they’re almost at the bottom of all the offensive categories in the American League. The good news is team ERA which was around 18.00 after the opening road trip is heading down towards respectability. Has anyone noticed how the NL is dominating inter-league play with a .610 winning percentage against the AL, there are only 4 teams in the AL with winning records.
  2. The revolving door continues, frequent flying miles are adding up.
  3. The Senators had an excuse, they were an expansion team but still weren’t as bad as the 2024 Sox. The original Senators moved to Minnesota in 1961 and became the Twins. The expansion Senators moved to Texas in 1971 and became the Rangers.
  4. 99 pitches along with 5 walks in 3.2 innings did it.
  5. I too was expecting a decent year from Baldwin with 20 homers a good possibility, I’m pissed too, I don’t believe in jinxes but the Chicago White Sox are snake bitten.
  6. That’s a real bummer and yes I agree that for some reason we can’t put a decent outfield in the lineup, it’s one AAAA guy after another and it’s not just this year but ever since we put Vaughn in right field, what a joke this franchise has become that is owned by Bozo the Clown.
  7. When Baldwin comes back it will be time to put him in left field for a few months on an everyday basis and see what we really have, let him swim or sink. I’ve never been a fan of platooning unless absolutely necessary, it’s hard to get in a groove when you’re platooned.
  8. Wow, a sweep of the AL Champs, keep it going against the O’s.
  9. Why not start Sosa at 2B and Meidroth at SS, anyway best of luck to Tanner Murray.
  10. Got those insurance runs.
  11. Let’s get an insurance run or 2.
  12. Swinging at pitches at eye level.
  13. Venable perplexes me.
  14. Beni batting for Sosa, someone really doesn’t like Lenyn.
  15. Ball is not the same as it was in the days of old Comiskey. This would be a 1-0 game in those days, that and Rate Field faces southeast instead of northeast.
  16. Great if it’s 1959.
  17. Great win even though they blew a 3-1 lead, maybe they can build on this.
  18. They drew 8,000 in 1968 right after MLK was assassinated with riots on the west and south sides. In those days there were hardly any sellouts for opening day all over MLB. Only 17,000+ showed up in 1959 for Bill Veeck’s first game as owner of the Sox. The Sox drew 40,000 for the opener in 1960 after the pennant winning year. I’m pretty sure the first sellout for an opener in Chicago was in 1969 at Wrigley Field which was 36,000.
  19. I agree but put him out there everyday.
  20. Benintendi should be the DH against righties, period. I’m pretty surprised they didn’t work with Sosa in the off season being the left fielder. If Ron Kittle, Ralph Garr and Juan Pierre could play LF I’m sure Sosa could.
