Signing Murakami best Sox decision in ages. Very good investment.
We are talking about JR here with of some of the most disastrous moves in White Sox history.

The thing that sort of bothers me is that didn’t the Sox want to sign him for 3 years and it’s Mune that wanted only 2 years.

So are there any scenarios that the White Sox extend Mune? My guess is that Ishbia has some say in the matter and somehow persuades JR. Another scenario might be that Mune really likes Chicago and his teammates and sees a bright future for White Sox baseball with a hometown discount. The worst possible outcome would be Mune signing with the Cubs.

5/4 Sox at Angels - 8:38 pm - Martin v. Soriano
Great if they sweep the series and come home a game over .500 with a possibility of being in first place. What they have done in the last month is damn good, they were last in most of the hitting and pitching categories after 2 weeks into the season, they are now at least league average in most categories and better than that in homers as they are on a pace for 203 dingers, we have 4 starters in the lineup right now with an OPS of over .800. I feel good right now about the team but would feel a lot better with a Major League outfield, Antonacci is doing the job in left and a healthy Austin Hays would probably foot the bill in center, Braden Montgomery might wind up being the last piece to the puzzle if he has a good stint at Charlotte and hopefully he’s our everyday rightfielder by July 1st at the latest. Another key to the whole thing is getting Teel 100 healthy, with Romo as the backup catching should not be a problem the rest of the way. That means sending Quero down to Charlotte where he can figure things out, you can never have enough catching.

White Sox signing Randal Grichuk to major league deal
What is with Getz and his obsession with AAAA outfielders. This guy is probably toast.

5/3 Sox @ Padres - 3:10PM CT
Now let’s win it.

5/3 Sox @ Padres - 3:10PM CT
They celebrated a few Ks like they just won the World Series, maybe Schiffren isn’t all that bad.

5/3 Sox @ Padres - 3:10PM CT
Yeah but we’re paying out 15 million to him not to be a platoon player and pinch hit for.

5/3 Sox @ Padres - 3:10PM CT
It would still be nice to win this game to get to .500 and go from there.

Get Kay out of there before someone gets hurt.

The Sox drew 2,009,000 in 2022.

At what point do we start to believe?
They probably like his experience helping out all the young guys on the team but to say he’s been a major disappointment is putting it mildly. When we signed him I thought we were getting a guy who would give us 22 homers, 80 RBIs and an .800 OPS.

Agree but the nice thing is team ERA is now down to 4.22 which is the average in the American League, who would have thought that it would be this low after the team ERA was 18.50 after the first week of the season. Actually I find it more appalling that we really don’t have a Major League outfield, if we had some power in the outfield corners this team IMHO would definitely have a chance at winning the Division or at least a Wild Card spot.

Bring up Braden Montgomery to play Right Field
We haven’t had a right fielder in many moons and eventually Braden should be the guy, they probably should send him up to Charlotte and if he excels there then maybe a mid season call-up would be in the cards. Bottom line don’t rush him.

5/1 Sox @ Padres - 8:40PM CT
Just woke up and checked the scores, another nice win by the Sox, dare we think that this team can at least contend for a Wild Card spot, actually it might be easier to win the Division.

Agree on seats down the lines, it’s the first thing I noticed and was the main flaw of old Comiskey, I would round off the corners like Tiger Stadium and cut down the size of the upper deck which looks enormous. I’m not sure how that huge upper deck could be built without posts, it would have to be an engineering marvel. Nowhere did I read what the capacity of this rendering was, these days it seems like a capacity of 40,000 is the norm.

4/29 Sox vs. Angels - 12:10 PM
The 8-7 victory the other night was pretty impressive with an 7 run 7th and Drew Romo was very impressive last night.

Said the same thing myself.

4/29 Sox vs. Angels - 12:10 PM
I agree but we need a Major League outfield, if we had at least one guy out there who could give us an .850 OPS, we might be dangerous and then there’s Quero but that situation hopefully be rectified when Teel is back.
