This is one perplexing situation and I’m on the fence but not worried about his age, whichever way they go, it’s a gamble. The one thing for sure is that he is one great centerfielder but his production is not worth his salary, he still can’t get to a .700 OPS, if he was just at .750 I would keep him.

Steinbrenner Field has the exact same dimensions as Yankee Stadium, a bit harder for a right handed hitter than a lefty hitter and Williams is a righty. Next year the Rays will be back at the Trop.

Works for me. BTW The Rays have brought up Shortstop Carson Williams who has had a monster minor league career, went 2 for 4 in his first MLB game with a homer and 3 RBI. It will be interesting watching Monty and Williams and what kind of numbers these kids put up along the way.

You said we could get to 80 wins, a wild card could be had for maybe 85 wins, the Mets right now are the NLs third WC and are projected for 85 wins. If the number was 90 wins, I would agree with you.

I’ve seen hundreds on the golf course, we don’t bother them and they don’t bother us. Things get a bit goofy during mating season as the males are on the move and can wind up in swimming pools and you see them taking strolls down streets or hanging out under cars.

Wow, I don’t think I ever heard about that pitcher getting struck by lightning and then coming back and finishing the game. I have played over 4500 rounds of golf since moving to Florida and came close to getting hit by lightning a few times including this past Friday.

He gets the job done and there’s no doubt he’s not running at 100% with some gimpy leg issues but this guy has probably been the best signing by Getz of all the vets he has signed in his 2 years as GM.

Ernie Banks hit a lot of homers when he was a SS, 4 years with over 40 and Colson is a lot bigger and stronger so there’s a good chance but I’m going to go with 35. I saw Ernie hit a lot of homers but not the bombs that Monty is launching.

Yep, we were historically bad last year so what I’m getting from your take is that it was impossible not to improve but the way the team played in April of this year I thought they were trying for a repeat of the 41 wins of last year.

I’d like to see a consistent lineup where guys can get comfortable game after game. Have we ever had this season the same lineup 2 games in a row, I’m not sure but am willing to bet no.
