i remember those late afternoon games being majorly affected by the shadows cast over home plate and the mound in the 2000 playoffs. if we can grab some early leads and allow those shadows to neutralize that powerful lineup of theirs then i think we should win this series.

i know Loaiza's ERA for the last month is something around 7 and he only has one win, and it was definitely a cheap one. i wouldnt be worried about trading this guy even if he wasnt gonna be asking for a fat contract this offseason. goodbye E-LO

Prior healthy? So much for the "Big 5" being healthy. Mark Prior is removed in the second inning due to elbow soreness. If he goes to the DL then you can definitely forget about Clement going anywhere.

Damaso Marte coming in against the Yankees and inducing the 4-6-3 double play to avoid the sweep was one of my favorites.

I think Coops "big three" consists of Buehrle, Freddy, and Loaiza though. As of now I would rather have Garland going, but maybe Loaiza will have things figured out in a couple weeks

There are some major snubs in the NL as well. Beltre is having a breakout year and his numbers are much better than mike lowell's. He got it much worse than Thomas Shingo or Pauly. But I guess that's what happens when McKeon is picking the reserves.

marte's stuff was terrible at the beginning of the year, but he seems like hes returning to his old form. i think shingo and marte have a good chance at succeeding in the closer's role, so it really doesnt matter to me. just as long as we have that one two combo for the eigth and ninth.
