White Sox @ Roy-Als..Game 1
Royals busting their asses. Sox snoozing toward third place, which will be Jerry Manuel's legacy. I can understand why Danny Wright turned down winter ball. He's too sharp. Doesn't need it.

Corg: Notice you didn't include Maggs in your possible team for next year. That suggests you're thinking a trade is in order. That so? What would the sox be looking for? Hopefully a young SS and another pitcher. Or maybe a catcher. what say you?

White Sox @ Roy-Als..Game 1
that's another reason Rowand needs to play. With the Sox payroll, they're going to need several guys making $500,000 or so. Crede will be one. Olivo will be another. Rowand will be another. Everett is a solid player, but he's not a $9 million player and he's not a center fielder. Just don't see the Sox ponying up to pay him. Rather see them spend the money on pitching. so give the job to Rowand and find out what he can do.

White Sox @ Roy-Als..Game 1
in what qualifies as good news these days, A Row sez he is going to play some winter ball to get some at bats (cause he didn't get many this season). Implied that the at bats should set him up for a solid spring training. I hope A Row gets at least 400 at bats next year. He's paid his dues. And he'll bust his ass.

The day ALL Sox Fans have waited for
i'll go off the wall with -- Ozzie Guillen. Marlins' third base coach -- and they have been winning. high-octane, high energy. popular with fans. popular with management. good communicator. great with media. should be good with players. And he's hungry to win. It's a longshot, but I bet Number 13 is in the mix.

Predict when Jerry Manuel will be fired
press conference is allegedly set for Tuesday afternoon -- to snatch a headline or two from the Cubs, I reckon, or to make sure the news is buried behind the Cubs' news

White Sox @ Roy-Als..Game 1
be interesting to see if Jerry plays Harris, Rowand and some of the other young guys plus, you got Maggs going for a batting title.

Typical Cubbune Headline..
if the Cubs make the playoffs, we can all just wait for another Leon Durham (1984) or Will Clark (1989) moment. It will come.

The Score Says Next Tuesday
When the Cubs begin their playoff push next week, look at the guy on THEIR bench and remember what a manager can do for a team. Granted, they have outstanding starting pitching. But their lineup won't dazzle you. Their bullpen is average. Somehow Borowski has come up with a career year. Dusty has resurrected Karros and Grudzilanek. He insisted they go out and get Damian Miller, which was a key move. And they have survived with a ton of injuries in a year when the Sox were unbelievably healthy. And, unlike the Sox, they played their asses off in September, knocking the Cardinals out by winning four out of five in a critical series. I agree: Jerry wasn't AWFUL. But the Sox shouldn't settle for average. Roll the dice and move on.

Players go to bat for Manuels Style
These guys have underachieved for three straight seasons, sitting there while the Central Division dominance was tranferred from Cleveland to Minnesota. The expected and planned for White Sox Reign never occurred. If these players don't like somebody who is going to get in their s*** when they lose 8 times to the Tigers, four times to Texas and EVERY SERIES on the West Coast, Too bad. It's not time for a CHANGE. It's time for CHANGES -- out the door with anybody who thinks it was OK to roll over and die the last 2 1/2 weeks of the season.

In the News Volume 2
actually he should have been fired on April 12 when the Sox became the first team to lose to the Tigers, a horrid sign of what was to come. and if that didn't see the deal, the three game sweep in Comerica in early July, when the Sox scored three runs in three games, should have. Too little, too late -- AGAIN

9-22 Yankee Hater game thread
That's $6 million we could use elsewhere. Franks a Sox legend, but I think it's time to move on. could be, but it's frank's call -- first if he wants to stay, he stays if he declines the option, sox can bringhim back for $8 mill (unlikely) or cut him loose for $2 million, I believe. should be interesting.
