8/7 Gamethread Sox vs Twins
I really wish Beckham would get it going on offense because he is an absolute stud on defense. revere can fly and he got him with ease. Impressive.

Addison Reed - September Call up?
no need to summon him into this pile of dog manure. let him have more success at Charlotte and don't let him log too many innings. plenty of time for him to contribute.

Adam Dunn Makes New York Times Front Page
Who knew Adam Dunn ranked right up there with the national debt debate? Well he does. The New York Times is the latest publication to report and write an ADAM DUNN STINKS story. Adam Dunn is Front-Page News. Here is the link: http://www.nytimes.com/2011/08/03/sports/b...html?ref=sports

A response....
Another reason it's time for a whole lot of changes at 35th and Dan Ryan. Sad situation, getting worse by the day.

7/30- Red Sox vs White Sox
QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 31, 2011 -> 12:15 AM) Win or lose, playoffs or not, I think we can agree on one thing. The 2011 Chicago White Sox are one of the toughest Sox teams to figure out in a LONG time. amen

Rumor: Rios/Thornton to Brewers for Gamel?
Gamel: 67 strikeouts in 171 major league at bats. Watching Adam Dunn whiff isn't enough for Kenny Stanford. We need more? Kenny is such a brilliant guy he sees a game that I cannot see.

Sox pitcher walkoff
Peters was such a good hitter, a lefty, that Al Lopez used him as a pinch hitter multiple times. Fisher was also a valuable guy, sort of a Tim Wakefield. Could start or relieve and threw a very good knuckleball. He wasn't Wilbur Wood or Hoyt Wilhelm. But he was solid.

Tiggers @ Sox 7/27/11 Gamethread (1:10 CT)
the good news: DeAza hits first MLB home run. The bad news: Kenny Williams just offered him a three-year extension.

Jackson & Teahen to TOR for Frasor & Stewart (RHP)
QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 06:21 PM) Zach Stewart better be something, or else we basically gave up Dan Hudson for Jason Frasor... This deal is KW cleaning up his own mess. one of his messes. He's made many. Time for Kenny Williams to go to the Blue Jays or the Cardinals or the Chattanooga Lookouts.

Edwin Jackson Appreciation Thread
Thanks Edwin. Why couldn't you take Rios or Dunn with you?
-
Are you in or out?
Are Dunn, Rios and Teahen still on the team? Then, I'm out.

White Sox as a franchise and the 2011 dilemma
Both Guillen and Williams are living off the good will they earned in 2005. That's considerable -- and it should be because anybody who has been a Sox fan for a long time knows exactly how remarkable that season and month of October was. Odds are it will be a long, long time before we see anything close to it again. But ... the direction of this franchise the last few seasons is a path to nowhere. It's an old, overpaid, underachieving group -- just as it was last season. And there are no young Magglios, Carlos Lees, Buehrles, Garlands, Credes, Rowands and Konerkos gathered to get things rolling in the right direction again. At least not in the Sox system. It's a bad, bad situation.

White Sox as a franchise and the 2011 dilemma
1.I am ALL FOR Dunn and Rios being benched for an extended period. Viciedo and DeAza would be fine. They couldn't be worse. Hell Brian Anderson and Timo Perez couldn't be worse. 2. My guess, and none of us know, is that Ozzie dislikes Dunn and didn't want him. He clearly wanted the rotating DH situation last season. It didn't work because Kotsay wasn't good enough to make it work. This time Kenny Stanford said they were doing it HIS way and he went out and got his guy, Dunn. Ozzie has to figure I'm stuck with this clown, so not only am I going to play him, I'm going to bat him fourth and show the world that this is the kind of player Kenny Stanford loves. 3. Despite all the public band aids they put on the relationship last winter, chances are Kenny and Ozzie can't co-exist much longer. The relationship has run its course and they have different philosophies about what kind of team each guy wants. Wouldn't be a bit surprised to see Ozzie head to Miami next season. 4. Meanwhile we'll be stuck with Kenny's Kontracts -- Peavy, Dunn, Rios and never, ever forget Teahen, who was extended for more money when there was no pressure or reason to do it. It's going to get worse before it gets better because the Sox player development system is not so hot -- other than Daniel Hudson and Gio Gonzalez of course.

AJ rated #93 of 94 in overall C's defense
who's 94th? Yogi Berra? Officer Karkovice?

Cooper hangs up on show after Dayan question
What's going to happen? Got a lot of guys who can't be traded because of their ridiculous contracts. Got no faith that Williams will come up with anything better than Tyler Flowers, Jon Gilmore, Jeff Marquez or Johnny Nunez. It's grim -- and getting grimmer.

Adam Dunn Articles and Quotes thread
Dunn is unwatchable. Sooner of later, even Ozzie is going to blow on him. With football about to solve the labor issue and the Sox inching toward fourth place, the Cell will be a Ghost Town soon.

Where's Trade Winds thread?
As long as Hahn makes the moves. Kenny has done enough harm.

Adam Dunn Articles and Quotes thread
It's time for people to quit believing in the dream that he's going to turn it around. He's not. He's been bad for an entire year. He's shown ZERO evidence that he's going to get on a tear. He and Kenny Williams have put the Sox in a bad, bad, bad, bad situation. They'll be behind the Twins by the end of the weekend.
