  1. As awful as this season has been, it's completely depressing to think the Sox are stuck with Rios and Dunn for three more seasons. Dunn is finished. He's inept. There isn't one thing he does at the major league level -- hit for average (no), hit for power (no), run (no), field (no) and catch (no). The Chairman needs to make somebody answer for wasting $56 million. It's ridiculous.
  2. Rios comes in too fast and catches the ball flat-footed. terrible fundamentals.
  3. rios is no Ben Revere. And Kendrick has the tough part of the cycle out of the way. I like his chances.
  4. Brandon Short Jon Gilmore Josh Phegley Leesman.
  5. four game series in Tampa for the Leylands. Need the Rays to stand and deliver. Niemann, Price, Davis and Hellickson.
  6. getting excited about Saladino. wonder if Axelrod will get a look in September
  7. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 21, 2011 -> 10:22 PM) White Sox are 48-51 when Dunn starts, so we'd be 3 games up when he doesn't start. thank you. thought the split would be bigger. but that's still a plus. Ozzie actually laughing in post-game press conference
  8. would love to know the Sox record in the games when Dunn has not played.
  9. Without Santos, PK and Buehrle, there is no season.
  10. QUOTE (Brian @ Aug 21, 2011 -> 01:40 AM) I can think of plenty more that I have hated more than Dunn. The batting statistics say that is impossible. Factor in his salary and there's no way any Sox player has been a bigger downer for a team.
  11. best and most engaged crowd in a long, long time.
  12. been a sox fan for a long, long, long, long, long time. There has NEVER EVER been a player I dislike more than Dunn. Three more years of that clown is more than I can imagine. What more can he do to ruin this season?
  13. QUOTE (JPN366 @ Aug 20, 2011 -> 07:19 PM) Fixed. Jr. doesn't repeat levels. And hopefully their dad will be unemployed.
  14. Hey. We got .... uhhhhh, we got ...... wellllll What did we get for Holmberg? and Hudson? a bucket of spit?
  15. at least Gordo didn't whiff.
  16. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 17, 2011 -> 04:40 AM) I used to think Scott Ruffcorn would be the biggest bust of my Sox watching era, but Beckham has taken over. excellent call.
  17. Beckham officially a major, major disappointment. have more faith in Morel these days. much better approach.
  18. Axelrod has quietly had a very nice season. I know the Padres cut him loose. Is he at all a prospect as a fourth or fifth starter -- or middle reliever?
  19. Judging by the crowds this season, White Sox fans don't view this team as resilient. overpaid and underperforming seems more like it. But Donny Lucy will save the day.
  20. sources indeed say that Kuhn and Phegley were told they were going back to Birmingham for a playoff push.
  21. QUOTE (PolishPrince34 @ Aug 16, 2011 -> 01:40 AM) When is Kenny Williams going to change his philosophy that it's smarter to develop your own players financially. Dunn, Rios, Teahen, Pierre, Peavy, Pena, etc. are examples wasting away money through trades, free agents, and waiver pick ups. Why not put $5-8 million towards the draft and international signings it will save you ten's of millions of dollars in the long run. amen. Although I think this is chairman Jerry, not Kenny Stanford.
  22. QUOTE (flavum @ Aug 16, 2011 -> 01:41 AM) Big Jim! Too bad that exclusive club has Arod, Bonds and Sosa there to taint it. Mike and Mike will talk about it tomorrow, and of course it will be all about Mark Schlereth's son giving it up. Mike and Mike will give it 8 seconds. Then they'll get back to Mark Sanchez, Notre Dame football and breaking down the Jacksonville receiving corps. If you're a baseball fan, Mike and Mike are a channel changer. They hate baseball.
  23. No Kuhn for charlotte? Resting? Injured? Returned to Birmingham?
  24. Hey, he's helping the Sox tonight cause the Twinkies are leading the Tigers in the 8th. thanks -- and congrats -- Gentleman Jim.
  25. wonder what ozzie is going to say about Chen this time? 110 pitches for Chen. one more inning ... tops?
