Just listened to the Future Projections podcast yesterday with Ben Badler and Carlos Collazo. Man, they are really down on the 2024 class -- HS and college. Really struggling to identify anyone who seems like a 1-1. If ever there were a time to NOT pick in the top 3 whe doing so guarantees a bad pick the following year, 2023 seems like that year.

If I were scouting the Sox right now, I might want Bummer. He started the year hurt and was terrible. Lately, he's been pretty darn good.

DSL Sox won 8-5. Mogollan has been on fire 2-4, 2b OPS up to .844, Nunez 2-5, 2b, sb .926, Flores 1-5 .922, Leandro Alsinois has also been hot, 2-4, 2b .858. Nice start by Marcelo Valladares 4IP 3H 0R 0ER 0bb 6K, ERA 2.13. Seems like their are some guys worth following down there, but who knows how any of it translates if these guys get stateside.

Bad night for pitching. The starters at mlb, AAA, AA, A+, and DSL all got clobbered. Pallette was meh in A, ACL starter doing well so far. Pitching development may need a serious overhaul.

I was fortunate enough to meet Tony Bennett on a couple of jobs I have worked on. He was among the kindest, classiest human beings I have ever encountered and an amazing talent. RIP.

Scouting is an inexact science.

I wonder with Tedford leaving whether they will look outside the org to find anyone who thinks differently or will they continue to stick their pitching development group with people who pitched for them majors or minors.
