Billy Hamilton HR. Sosa 1-2 with a 2b.

This team is going to lose 90 plus games...
With the lottery, bottom three records have the same odds for the number 1 pick. Sox don’t have to catch A’s and Royals.

2023 MLB Draft thread
Latest CBS mock has them taking Waldrep which I find hard to believe.

Fire Rick Hahn
Diekman is not alone: Maybe none of this is on the players and once they leave they'll all live up to their potential.

7/6 Games
Nunez 2-5, 2b, sb. it seems like he fills the stat sheet on the daily.

If he can get to it, sure. I think there's a high probability Morales is a righty lf/rf/1b with power over hit so he'll have a .700ish OPS made up mostly of running into some mistakes. We've had over 25 years of that profile and it hasn't won much.

Bullpen management
That’s because the Sox have only one core competency: churros.

Bullpen management
One reason the Sox have blown so many leads is that they score so few runs. The margin of error is zilch. Basically, any time they give up any runs you give up the lead. It’s why they have to blow the whole thing up, not just fix one aspect.

I am fine with a whole bunch of guys including Bradfield and Dollander. Morales scares me with our hitting development. Also righty corners are not a glaring need.

7/5 Games
The only to have this approach in this organization is to enter with it. They sure as hell aren’t going to teach it to him.

Trading One Year Assets is Inevitable. Maybe even 2-yr
I may be Charlie Brown kicking the football here, but Matt Thompson’s last 3 starts have me mildly excited. He may be a rotation piece next year?

7/4 Games
From today, I would add Murphy, Nunez, and Cannon.

7/4 Games
Charlotte getting crushed again. The starting pitching depth of this org is tragi-comic.

7/4 Games
https://www.milb.com/scores/all/all/whitesox ACL Sox getting thumped. McLaughlin hammered yet again. Colson Montgomery no in the lineup. He may be headed up. Burrowes leaves after 1ab. Hope he’s okay. DSL Sox win 3-2 on 2 hits. Nunez 1-2, bb.

I get Chase Davis under slot at 15. Not my least favorite option, for the record, that’s Morales. My worry is that Davis is a left fielder who’s power over hit. Sox have done a lot of that type of player both in the draft and internationally. Puts a ton of pressure on the hit tool, and leads to the one-dimensional offenses we’ve seen for 20 years.

7/4 Gamethread (Giolito vs. Bassitt)
Based on the last 2 plus years I predict 10-11 or 11-10.
-
7/3 Games
Currently 20-4. 15H and 13bb Nunez 4-6, 3 rbi. Alsinois 4bb a hit and 4 runs scored.

Óscar Colás reportedly being promoted, expected to join club tomorrow
As much as Frazier and Sheets have disappointed, I predict Perez goes back down and Colas is really replacing Haseley. I hope I am wrong.
-
7/3 Games
In that game Reyes 3IP 1H 0R 0ER 6K and 0bb! The bullpen came in and walked 5 guys in an inning. Now 9-2.
-
7/3 Games
DSL Sox leading 9-0. Nunez 2-2 with a 2b, Alsinois 3bb.

Good move. They’re going to need him to pitch.

7/2 Gamethread - TBD vs. Blackburn
Yes and Oakland has a team ERA of 6.

7/1 - Chicago White Sox @ Oakland Athletics - 3:07 PM CDT. TV: NBCSCH; Radio WMVP 1000 AM
Here's a puzzler: Sox 2b situation is a disaster but Charlotte is mostly playing Sosa at 3b in deference to Kean f'ing Wong.

Grifol's double switches really worked great.

7/1 Games
Montgomery went 3-4. He may be close to done with the ACL. Aguero also 3-4 w/HR. He's repeating the level, but he's still young. He may be one to watch.
