Of all the lefty hitters the Sox could have signed, Conforto, Bellinger, Gallo, Yoshida, Benintendi is doing by far the worst. Par for the course.

Seems like this is always where this was headed. Bad break for him. He would have had a sure spot in the rotation lined up for next year at the latest. Now other guys will get first shot.

Looking it up, he’s 8-4 with a 2.64 against the Sox in his career. He has mostly dominated them. They did get to him once last year for 6 runs and once in 2019 for 5.

His stuff is always mediocre. He beats teams by getting them to swing out of the zone. Last night, the Sox put up good at bats. Eventually, they made him pay.

I am fine keeping Katz or firing Katz because the whole organization from the very top has to go. If they replace KW, Hahn, Haber , etc and the new team at the top wants to fire/keep Katz, I think that will be a great decision. But thinking that changing the pitching coach is going to turn this season around… we’ll, I think that is insufficient.
