6/12 Games
Lot of offensive for the two rookie ball teams. Not much pitching, except Anderson Comas who threw another scoreless inning. Anyone know what he throws? He's listed as a 6'7" lefty. That is an interesting profile.

Athletic fired Fegan in Jun23, now hired with Sox Machine
I just cancelled. I do have a separate NYT subscription, unfortunately, I need to keep that for my work, but I'm done with The Athletic.

Kelly sucked, otoh, you're not going to win too many games with complete and utter corpseball except for one solo shot.

Man, when Kelly's bad, he's really bad.

He's there for his defense.

Alcantara's best start of the year... How many righties with a slider can say the exact same thing about facing the Sox?

6/10 Games
Yeah, not concerned yet about a 17 year-old struggling to throw strikes. Encouraged by the 2.1 scoreless from Ysalla. Future Sox has him as an interesting sleeper. Alsinois is off to a good start. I think he may have a shot. Disappointed whenever Nunez Jr. doesn't play.

Oh good, another chance to watch Andrus "hit."

Eury Perez is the truth. Should be a tough game.

6/9 Games
Nunez finishes 1-2 with a single and 2bb. DSL won their first game, but it only went 7. Could be first game of a doubleheader?

6/9 Games
2 walks thus far for Nunez Jr. In 15 PA he has 5bb 2K. He may have too much plate discipline for the notoriously wild DSL.

DSL Preview
Love the preview. I am, however, confused about Abraham Nunez Jr. The preview states he has "bat control and strike zone judgment from the right side" but MiLB lists him as a left-handed hitter. That would be more impactful in this system. Do we know for sure which way he hits? I believe I have seen video of him hitting lefty.

2023 MLB Draft thread
Here's Bowden on Morales, who he ranks as the 17th best prospect in the draft, keep in mind the Sox have shown 0 ability to improve hitters' chase rates: However, he does have swing-and-miss in his game, including chasing out of the strike zone, which should improve in professional ball. I’ve seen him struggle against breaking balls enough that I’d want him to take a depth perception test before selecting him this high in the draft.

Borrero with a hit, two more hits for Carlos Jimenez.

2023 AL Central Division Thread
The last inning they scored 1 run aided by 2 HBP. They look dead at the plate like every other team in the AL Central. First team to start hitting runs away with it.

Elly De La Cruz with his first HR a 458 ft mammoth blast into the last row of the Reds stadium and a triple. McClain single and a triple, hitting .341. This team is gonna be fun.

Should they even play the last two games of this series?
I have tickets to tomorrow’s game. I wonder if either will be played.

He’ll fit in with the entire lineup that doesn’t hit for power.

I live in Manhattan, it’s pretty bad on the UWS too. The sky is yellow.

2023 AL Central Division Thread
Everyone in the Central but the Sox lose. Tigers Score 0, Twins 0, Royals 1, Guardians 4, Seby 3. The entire division in 5 games mustered 8 runs. Pathetic.

Reds came back to beat the Dodgers. With McClain and De La Cruz their young line up looks awesome.
