So far, very mixed. Bonemer has been quite good, Smith has looked good but walked a bunch of guys, and Antonacci has been solid. But their Comp pick, Larson, and their 3rd and 4th rounders McLain and Saucke, have been hurt all year. Add to that that they drafted a ton of college relievers who need development, it could have gone better.

This is going to be a long long rebuild. There’s not much hitting talent above low A ball. Braden Montgomery, Antonacci, and hopefully Zavala are about it. I suppose you could hope for Jacob Gonzalez or William Bergolla, but if either of those guys is an every day player, something has gone terribly wrong with Colson Montgomery (not entirely unlikely). The good news is the Sox have Bonemer, Mogollon, Wolkow, Ronny Hernandez, and maybe Nunez at Kanny Gil, Steven Flores, and maybe Cristian Gonzalez in the ACL plus Mieses, Herrera, Soto, and Cruz in the DSL. You add Fauske and Carlson, suddenly they have a fair number of teenage hitters who may be able to move up the system together. It’s a long shot, but there’s some offensive ceiling at least.

One guy I do like who fits into that bucket is Antonacci. I think he's gonna hit. There might not be a ton of impact, but he looks like a big leaguer to me.

Unless it's underslot to pay for Fauske, I just don't get the Lodise pick. There's no upside here. He really profiles as a utility player. I would rather take an upside play or get a pitcher. At least with pitchers, depth plays. With mediocre position players there's almost no benefit.

Ugh, Kyle Lodise. Ugh.

I b**** about this every year, but why the heck do the Cardinals, with like the 5th largest fan base in the sport, get a competitive balance pick?!

Liking Caleb Bonemer so far. Maybe they're turning over a new leaf.

Fauske kinda best case scenario here. I hope for one more HS hitter.

Speaking of money. I am hoping the Orioles aren’t pushing my man Jojo down the board.

I have never heard anyone who thinks Arquette makes it to 1-10. Have no idea what the Sox think of him. They have certainly not been connected to him.

Cardinals like college pitchers and hit tools. I could see them with one of the pitchers or they might be the high guy on Jojo.

There was buzz that the Angels really liked Bremner. Angels are clearly trying to push someone down.

I am Team Anyone Who Can Hit. Picking Liam Doyle, a one pitch guy with huge reliever risk, would make me furious.

I'm hoping for relegation and then maybe they can be competitive in the Cape Cod league.

The real question is why do I keep subjecting myself to this B.S.

Got greedy. Civale gave you 5 solid. Get someone up in the 6th. Instead, they lose the game trying to get a couple extra outs. Venable needs to start competing. I understand they’re gonna lose 110 games, but eventually you have to pretend the games count.

Venable continues to manage every game like it’s ST. He does not try to win.

I loved the part where he talked about a GMs job is finding role players and that everyone can identify stars. The Sox have 0 stars on this team. Their system is trending towards producing bulk regulars rather than stars. Finding stars, it’s pretty damn important.

Slowly creeping back to last year’s not-so-lovable losers.

They have a choice: Start Colson at 3b and Vargas at 1b or Colson at ss and Sosa at 1b. They chose the former. Apparently, they have soured on Vargas at 3b because they were fine with Sosa at 1b yesterday. It’s weird.

Sox can’t catch a break against Cleveland. Two bullets, a call that could’ve gone either way and a pretty generous strike zone against them.

Would love Jojo Parker at 10 and Jacob Parker at 67. Oliveto is an intriguing player at 44. Bat ahead of the glove. I wonder how long they would run him out at catcher given how badly the system needs bats.

But that would take at bats away from Will Robertson, Josh Rojas, and eventually Ryan Noda. They are the straws that are also in the drink.

Will Robertson is gonna be a real rough one on this year’s Sporcle quiz.

Exciting. So glad the Sox gave up Fajardo to get him.
