  1. Mena is done 5IP 4H 3R 3ER 3bb 2K. Meh.
  2. HR Hackenberg. He has been on a tear lately. Could he be possibly a non-embarrassing defensive-first catcher?
  3. Reyes pitched better last time out in relief. By Hernandez do you mean Erick Hernandez? If so, he's in the ACL and struggling. Catcher Ronny Hernandez, OTOH, is doing quite well.
  4. W-S lose 7-6. Burke 2-3, bb, HBP, Montgomery 2-4, bb, 2K.
  5. Kanny scored 4 in the first and holds on for a 5-3 victory. Good outing for Shane Murphy 5IP 5H 1R 1ER 0bb 3K, solo shot. W-S trails 7-6 in a seesaw game. Burke 2-3, HBP; Montgomery 2-3, bb, K. Back half of the pitching staff in W-S is really, really bad. With Cannon and Kelley gone, it is super thin.
  6. Dalquist was horrible once again 2.2IP 7H 5R 5ER 3bb 3K. W-S trails 5-3.
  7. Dominguez threw 2 scoreless for W-S. He's 27, coming back from TJS but he may be rotation depth for 2024. Dalquist in now and he's getting hit.
  8. W-S and Kanny with early starts for some reason. W-S leads 2-0 in the first but everybody panic -- Colson Montgomery has now struck out 4 of his last 5 at bats. I assume someone from the org came in and "coached" him.
  9. https://www.mlb.com/prospects/stats/affiliates?teamId=145&date=07/26/2023 https://www.milb.com/scores/all/all/whitesox Hoping to change our luck, although I suspect it's not luck.
  10. I suspect The Eagles know why Hahn did not do his customary press conference:
  11. Yeah, like those guys who liquidated Bed, Bath, and Beyond. At the end they can sell the shelving and KW's Big Board.
  12. Every affiliate is going to lose tonight. Again. Strange line for Kelley in relief so far 3IP 2H 1R 1ER 4bb 6K 1HBP. Effectively wild?
  13. The amount of garbage FA or low-bonus arms all over the Sox system is really something. I don't know if it's their draft strategy or continuing effects from the five round draft but every level is thin. W-S gave up 10 runs as soon as they went to the pen. Tommy Sommer was okay in A ball because people would swing at his change way out of the zone. In AA, they won't do it, so he's getting bombed. Hopefully, they're doing something to address pitching development in the offseason.
  14. Montgomery with a nice play in the hole. He's a smooth and smart player.
  15. Cousin going for W-S tonight. Loopy breaking ball is his best pitch so far. Doubt that's gonna work at higher levels, but who knows. Dash up 1-0.
  16. I think people will watch the game just to see Burger at second. This could be their final 2 months marketing strategy: come see the defensive freak show. Bright spot, we'll finally see TA at catcher.
  17. Moncada returns for tonight. I think this is risky. Should have waited a week. I fear he and Eloy are going to get hurt hugging departing teammates.
  18. Yeah, nice to see from him. On the position player side, you'd imagine Mogollon, Alsinois, Nunez, and Stiven Flores are all probably headed to the States next year. Always hard to say with pitching, but they have some guys worth watching.
  19. All the draftees are out of the game after 6. Gonzalez 0-1 2bb 1K.
  20. Harris a hit in his first AB, Gonzalez walks in his second AB.
  21. Gonzalez Ks in his first AB.
  22. Gonzalez and a bunch of other 2023 draftees in the line up for ACL tonight. 1. *Park, cf 2. *Gonzalez, ss 3. Burrowes, 2b 4. *R. Hernandez, dh 5. *Harris, c 6. Godwin Bennett, LF 7. Prado, rf 8. *Borrero, 1b 9. Rodriguez, 3b
  23. Just listened to the Future Projections podcast yesterday with Ben Badler and Carlos Collazo. Man, they are really down on the 2024 class -- HS and college. Really struggling to identify anyone who seems like a 1-1. If ever there were a time to NOT pick in the top 3 whe doing so guarantees a bad pick the following year, 2023 seems like that year.
