3/21 Sox @ Reds 3:05PM CT
Good to see Zavala hitting. Would be nice if he can ascend. Gonna be interesting to see who plays OF in W-S. Read somewhere that in at least one game it was Wolkow, Montogomery, Zavala. Sox have 5 legit OF prospects (including Saucke and McLain). All 5 of them should start the year at W-S. I am not high on Saucke (or Veras, obviously) but three of the other 4 could move quickly. Personally, I'd give Wolkow another half season at Kanny, and rotate McLain, Zavala, and Montgomery through all the outfield spots, but I'm not on the back fields, so who knows?

Opening Day 26-Man Roster
Forget who makes the roster. The Sox have a new franchise player: The Celebration Cake SHAKE. https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/44111171/mlb-2025-new-ballpark-food

3/17 - Giants @ Sox, 3:05 CDT - spring training
Sox have 5H, Drury has 3 of them. So far 0 XBH by either team.

3/17 - Giants @ Sox, 3:05 CDT - spring training
McLaughlin walks a guy, but Giants strand bases juiced. 8bb so far, Giants have stranded 11 through 5.

Booser faced 6 guys and walked 3 of them. MiLB afterthought Mark McLaughlin is in.

3/17 - Giants @ Sox, 3:05 CDT - spring training
Cannon faced 2 more guys and got them both out. 3.1IP with same stuff as above. ERA went down after this outing.

3/17 - Giants @ Sox, 3:05 CDT - spring training
Cannon is out. 2.2IP 6H 3R 3ER 3bb HBP 1K. Maybe 2 cheapish hits, but a lot of balls hit hard. Dalquist came in and walked a guy. In 3 innings, Giants have had 11 baserunners. 3-0, but could have been worse.

3/17 - Giants @ Sox, 3:05 CDT - spring training
Now 12 guys: 5 singles, 2bb, HBP, line out for a double play and a CS. The Giants OBP so far is .666

3/17 - Giants @ Sox, 3:05 CDT - spring training
Cannon has faced 10 batters: 5 singles and a HBP so far. Hopefully this is an Arizona thing.

Sox Spring Training notes
How long is he out for? The Sox have zero luck when it comes to lefty hitters. Their line up vs. righties will have 6 or 7 right handed hitters in it. Sliders ahoy!

Sox Spring Training notes
Looks like Jankowski, Michael A. Taylor, Tauchman will all be in the outfield. Amaya still has a good shot to make the team, and it’s not like Vargas or Sosa has really done anything in mlb. They are going to struggle to not be last in runs scored again.

Jankowski is a lefty. As much as it hurts to say this, I think the OD left fielder for a major league team is going to be what’s left of Michael A. Taylor. On paper, this team looks like it will lose 160 games.

Sox Spring Training notes
Not shocked by any of those guys. 12 NRI’s still in camp. 40 man roster crunch gonna be fascinating. Looks like they break camp with even more AAAA types than last year. Rotation looks okay. Line up and bullpen seem problematic. SS seems down to Meidroth/Amaya/Tristan Gray

2025 MLB Draft
Yeah, the college position player group seems to be 20 guys that you would be fine taking anywhere between 15-45 and nobody who really fits in the Top 5. I think a lot of teams will be shopping for deals in that group then scooping up HS arms later in the draft. I would be looking at HS bats for 1-10, but you never know.

2025 Bold Predictions
I’ll play: Sox representative to the All Star game is Davis Martin. Andrew Benintendi will have a Wrc+ above 110, and they will trade him. George Wolkow will be a top 100 prospect by the end of the year. Nick McLain and Sam Antonacci will both be top 10 players in the Sox system by the end of the year. McLain will get a call up after Benintendi is traded.

3/16 - Sox @ Rangers, 3:05 CDT - spring training
I disagree. 104 EV right over your head is pretty tough.
-
3/16 - Sox @ Rangers, 3:05 CDT - spring training
Nice to see Antonacci getting a game. He’s a bat control/walk dude but I think he has a chance to be a bit more physical than a guy like Meidroth.

Gallo Released, Adams has Flexor Strain
Sox have a pretty packed minor league system in the pitching side. Hard to imagine there’s a roster spot for him.

Sean Burke Opening Day Starter
Good for Burke. He has the best stuff of the 4 guys named. Ultimately it doesn’t matter as everyone is the #1 on the day they go.

Rox @ Sox Spring Breakout Gm Sunday 4 pm CHSN
Interesting that Bergolla gets the start. Also Wolkow.

Mostly roster dregs today, but then again, most of their roster is dregs.
